Reflections for Air Interdiction Agent Robert F. Smith

I have never known anyone as smart as Robert Smith. He was a humble genius with a charming, witty and engaging personality and one hell of a pilot. Being his friend was a gift from god that I will always cherish.

Heaven is now a better place. Rest in peace my brother.

I found this site due to the recent line of duty death of one of our officers.I am reading through these, one at a time. It may take a while, but well worth it, so as I can give honor, to those, like yourself, who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Each day or night that I begin my shift, I pray for "my" officers to return safely. I know far too well, how quickly "routine" can become tragic. My prayers go out to your family, friends, brother and sister agents, your entire department, and to the citizens of our Country. "A Hero does not become a Hero by their death, but by how they lived their life." God Bless you and keep you 10-4 forever in the heavens above!

You'll never be forgotten; each time I (and other Agents) go up in the bird, we remember the Fallen and hope that you are watching over us. Peace to you and your family.

We offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends and colleagues of Agent Smith and we honor his distinguished service to the cause of justice and peace. Sadly, our nation has lost one of its finest citizens, a community has lost a friend and protector, and a family has lost an example of character and courage who they will love and respect forever. Today, because of the sacrifice Agent Smith has made, the house of freedom is stronger, sturdier, and more secure.

To the family and friends of Agent Smith, I would like you to know that a lot of people pray for you, and my hope is that their prayers will give you the strength necessary to move on. Just as you were always with him when he walked the beat or patrolled the streets, know that he will always be with you - wherever you may be. In the days to follow, may you be strengthened by the fact that Agent Smith is a man distinguished by exceptional courage and will always be admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. You, your family and your sacrifice will never be forgotten.
