Its always a tragic loss to loose someone, but to loose a Man like Constable Bailey it is even more heartbreaking. We not only lost a great LEO but a piece of history. My heart goes out to his Family and Friends and his Fellow Law Enforcement Officers. He died doing what he loved. Godspeed Constable Bailey. Watch over us as our country just became less protected.

I don't know where to begin other than to say that you are a true hero, and your cowardly assailants will be brought to swift justice. You will never be forgotten.

To the family, friends, and officers that knew Constable Bailey, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you face the trying times ahead of you. Please know your not alone.

Here I am, lost in the light of the moon that comes through my window
Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you and the roses

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow

Here I am, lost in the ashes of time, but who wants tomorrow?
In between the longing to hold you again
I'm caught in your shadow, I'm losing control
My mind drifts away, we only have today

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way
I will sacrifice 'til the blinding day when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow

When the veils are gone as I let you go, as I let you go

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way, I will sacrifice
Now I'm living in your afterglow

Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you who is closest

I had hoped that you wouldn't end up on this list but God had a different plan. Thank you for your service. I can only hope your killers will be brought to justice. Rest in Peace.

My father told me that public service is and would always be an honorable profession, not paying much, but honorable and valued. Constable Bailey is proof of living out ones dreams and goals. As a drilling Navy Reservist I offer the highest, yet simple accolade, "fair winds and following seas, Shipmate".

Constable Bailey protected the citizens of South Carolina for 43 years. That is a heroic event in itself. For an officer to be working the streets at 67 YOA is a testiment to this man's inner strength, courage and devotion to duty. He is a true example of the "thin blue line" that stands between law abiding society and the criminals who's only purpose in life is to prey on innocent victims. My prayers are with Constable Baily's family, especially any grandchildren that he had who now are deprived of a grandfather's love. Constable Baily, I salute your courage and hope that other law enforcement officers look to you as an example to live by. God bless you and all of the officers who work the streets of this great country.

What a terrible story! I sincerely hope that the murderers are caught and punished to the fullest extent of the law!!!

Constable Bailey, watch over your family as they begin this long, dark journey without you giving them the love, guidance and support they will need. Watch over your brothers and sisters in uniform. Neither you, nor your sacrifice, will ever be forgotten.

Rest in peace.

I hope every single one of them is tried, convicted, and given death. They deserve so much more than that (like a bullet in the back of the head) but unfortunately that's all our CJ system allows. Rotten pieces of crap.

God bless Constable Bailey, his department, and his family. He died, and lived, an absolute hero, and he will not be forgotten. Rest easy sir, we've got the watch from here on.

On Memory
When you remember me, it means that you
have carried something of who I am with you,
that I have left some mark on who I am on who you are.
It means that you can summon me back to your mind
even though countless years and miles may stand between us.
It means that if we meet again, you will know me,
and hear my voice and speak to me in your heart.
For as long as you remember me, I am never entirely lost.
~Frederick Buechner

Rest in Peace
