Your heroism and service is honored today, the seventy-first anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

I am trying to find Officer Blacks family. GSP is trying to get a road named after him and want to honor his family. Catoosa County also wants to honor him. The death certificate is all I have but this far have not been able to find anyone. Any information would be appreciated. We are trying to find family before Legislative Session ends.

I first heard the story of your death while discussing the death of my brother, GSP Trooper John D. Morris, with another GSP Trooper several years ago. He spoke reverently of you, telling the story of how you didn't know you had been shot until your boot filled with blood. I wish I knew more details. Your contribution will never be forgotten.
