Wow. I was brought here after watching the two incidents involving Officer McKay and “Niko?”. Niko was obviously a troubled young man and it’s sad that he took out his vengeance and rage against this well respected man. It’s a very sad story and my heart goes out to the McKay family. It saddens me deeply to hear of this and exacerbates my respect for all law enforcement and proves that their job is one that is full of danger. But they do it to protect the population. Corporal McKay truly is a hero and an inspiration to not only me but I’m sure many more people around the globe.

Sir, I didn't know you personally but I wish to express my gratitude and respect to you having served the community and keep the community safe.
You will never be forgotten.
My heartfelt condolences go out to the officers family who suffered unimaginably because of a young, completely out of his mind punk who got what he deserved!

I have seen the video of this incident several times. The earth was rid of a dangerous individual when the civilian took his life. He will be forgotten over the passage of time. Corporal Bruce McKay will be forever remembered.

I am learning of your death today, 10 years later. It is heartbreaking, especially as the daughter of a police officer (RIP). What happened to you was always my greatest fear of what may have happened to Dad during his years of service. He survived the streets where many, including you & a dear friend of his, did not. My heart goes out to your family.

Dear brother,
you would be proud that Franconia finally got a decent police and fire station built. It's quite an impressive building with all of the proper setups you would expect. Your photo is framed and hung there and the guys who knew you certainly think of you often! BTW, the new chief looks very much like you. Kind of gives me chills actually... I had to do a double take. Miss you more than I can say in words... thanks for sending all of your signs. I love them - they keep me going!

Eight years have passed and still I weep, not for me alone, Bruce, but for our children. They will be forever burdened by your loss. I think of all the citizens you served and how they'll never understand you were more than an officer behind the badge. I think of your/my family and how gracious they have been in spite of their grief. I've learned to tuck you neatly inside my heart, always safe. Your gift of love has given me the strength to move forward and love again. For your guidance and the little signs just when I need them most, I will always be grateful.

Bruce and Family,

More time has passed and time keeps marching on. I hope everyone is well and life has offered your daughter and family some counterweight of happiness to make up for the loss. I will always remember the sacrifice and appreciate the time I have and try to make the most of it. Thank you.
