Luke ... I remember being assigned to 4D/Shift 8 not long after you made the ultimate sacrifice. Just prior to my assignment, I was working daywork in 4D. I met some of your family at their home during the aftermath and suffering, You have a strong family and still have lots of friends that think about you every day and night. The shift dinners, words spoken and memories in your honor will carry on forever. Some of us have moved on to other districts, promotions or retirement (like me). You still live forever within the MCP family. You will never be forgotten.

Still think about you and feel such sadness that the best guy I've ever known didn't get to spend more time here with us. You will always be in my heart. Wishing things turned out differently.

Luke, I was working the night you gave your life to protect us. I was just behind the Wheaton district dispatcher during the pursuit and can remember clearly hearing on the radio that you were struck. I placed the first call to Fire & Rescue, and can still recall asking them to send help as a lump started to build in my throat. Looking at all the love and admiration you had from your coworkers, friends, fellow officers, and family, I want you to know that I am sorry that I could not have done more to help you. And although I did not know you personally, I think about you often. May God Bless you and your loved ones.

For training down here at FLETC every time my class gathers to train for defensive tactics we remember a fallen officer and for that day of training we train for him or her. Today is my turn to present the officer down so we can dedicate today's training and I chose you Luke. We trained together in 6D during FTO and like all the other people who have reflected, I still remember your friendship. I know that God holds you in the palm of His hand. Thank you my friend for being a part of my life.

I worked with Luke at his part time job at Market Day. I thought he was the sweetest and most polite young man, and he reminded me so much of my nephew. Luke, you come to my mind quite often. You made a great impression on me. Maybe God be giving your family peace and you, too, honey!

I will never forget meeting Luke for the first time, doing "scenario training" at the Academy. I thought to myself, "what a fine young man, he's going to make a wonderful Officer"....and he certainly was that, and more. I was so saddened by his passing and cannot imagine the grief felt by his family and friends. Just wanted you to know that even short meetings sometimes leave lasting impressions...be well young man, thank you for your service to our community, you are always in our thoughts and prayers.
