Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Philip Anthony Rodriguez

"...I pray that our heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom. Phillip will be missed. I was fortunate enough to have coached Phillip some years ago in Little League. He was a very respectful young man. His charactor, integrity and enthusiam at such a young age made it a pleasure to have him on my team. It is always great to see a young man heading in a positive direction. Phillip was a great kid. The world could use more like him. It is very unfortunate he has left us too soon. I will always remember him fondly.

Phil. I know alot happened between us and I am sorry for the heartache I caused you and your family. I hope your mom knows how sorry I am for this loss. Phil I still think about you all the time. I remember all the times we watched Lethal Weapon and ate Reese's Peanut Butter Cups your mom brought home from Family Dollar and the Coca Cola she brought also. And I will never forget all the times we got together with the Explorers and trained. I thought I was so much tougher than you but we both knew the truth! HA!!!!Phil I know after what happened between us I was probably never going to get to say I am sorry, so I say right now to YOU and Your Mom. I AM SO SORRY! We were best friends for 2 years and now I can never see you again just in pictures.Cindy if you read this I cannot say how sorry I am for the heartache I left in your life. But I hope we can put that behind us now and move on.

PHIL I will miss you my brother! I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!

Your Friend NO Matter What!

We offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends and colleagues of Deputy Rodriguez and we honor his distinguished service to the cause of justice and peace. Sadly, our nation has lost one of its finest citizens, a community has lost a friend and protector, and a family has lost an example of character and courage who they will love and respect forever. Today, because of the sacrifice Deputy Rodriguez has made, the house of freedom is stronger, sturdier, and more secure.

To the family and friends of Deputy Rodriguez, I would like you to know that a lot of people pray for you, and my hope is that their prayers will give you the strength necessary to move on. Just as you were always with him when he walked the beat or patrolled the streets, know that he will always be with you - wherever you may be. In the days to follow, may you be strengthened by the fact that Deputy Rodriguez is a man distinguished by exceptional courage and will always be admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. You, your family and your sacrifice will never be forgotten.
