Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Philip Anthony Rodriguez

To the family and loved ones of Deputy Philip A. Rodriquez and his fellow officers with the Mojave County Sheriff's Office:

On behalf of our family, I want to extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Deputy Rodriquez was tragically killed. In reading the reflections, I can see Philip was an amazing young man who touched many lives in a positive way. I can see that he is so loved and will be missed by so many.

To his parents, I share your agony in losing a cherished child and know that the lives of everyone who called Philip beloved have been forever changed. To all his family members, I pray that you find comfort in your faith, each other and your friends as you struggle with this devastating loss. May you be embraced by your law enforcement family and other police survivors who share this journey with you.

May Philip's spirit continue to soar and his memory continue to inspire. May God hold Philip and his family in the warmest part of his heart and the most gentle part of his soul. Heaven has another hero today.

Our family lost our cherished Larry when he was ambushed and fatally shot during a foot pursuit of two robbery suspects on April 23, 2005. Our family was supported and comforted by the brotherhood and sisterhood of law enforcement, and that wonderful community will be there for you. Nothing takes away the pain of your loss, but the comfort of the law enforcement community will help you endure what will seem at times unendurable.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the distinquished service Philip gave to his community and the citizens of Arizona, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on April 21, 2007.

To the Rodriguez Family and the extended family at the Mohave County Sheriff's Office,

I wanted to express my heart felt sympothies at your recent loss. When we loss a fellow brother in law enforcement, not only is the loss felt by his family and his community, but as a law enforcement community as a whole.

In time the emptiness that you feel now will gave way to tender fond memories that you cherish.

This was left on the hood of our Lieutenant's patrol vehicle after he was killed by a drunk driver.

.....And when we lay down our nightsticks, Enroll us in your Heavenly force, Where we will be as proud to Guard the Throne of God as we have been to guard the city of man!

Rest in Peace Deputy Rodriguez, We'll take it from here.

Phil was my future son-in-law, whom I loved deeply, and actully hand picked for my daughter, and low & behold, to my delight, they feel in love. He is irreplaceable. We miss him so badly, and will forever. I wrote to the network for "cops", cause that was his most favorite show, and he was bound & determined to get on it. That is not possible, but I was lead to this site, and for that I am grateful. What wonderful reflections and prayers. I will make sure his mother, and sisters, and my daughter also reads these. Thank you so very much, for being such a family support group, that you all are. God Bless, & be safe......Donna

--"If you find it in your heart to care for somebody else, you will have succeeded." -- Maya Angelou

Aloha Deputy Sheriff Philip A. Rodriguez,
Thank you for your service and dedication to your community and your country. You and all officers that continue to lay your lives on the line and pay the ultimate sacrifice to keep our communities and country safe, will NEVER be forgotten.

I personally pledge, (after one of Hawaii's own, Honolulu Police Officer Steve Favela, lost his life last year in the line of duty protecting our Commander in Chief, President George W. Bush), to become a continuum; a keeper of the ODMP light. That sacred light is in the form of an ODMP tribute. People from all walks of life, regardless of age, race, religion, profession, education, and geographical location can share here.

This "LIGHT" comes from within the heart and soul of every person who cares to share a word or two on behalf of each and every fallen officer. Every fallen officer is a hero. The ODMP; Officer Down Memorial Page gives us a place to come together and share our feelings as one family. May we find solace as we give solace to the families who have lost a loved one.

Deputy Sheriff Philip A. Rodriguez, God Bless you. You are a hero. As we say in Hawaii, “You are`Ohana.” “You are Family.” No one will ever be able to replace you for you were unique and very special. No one; not in this lifetime. May God allow you to rest in His Divine peace. I wish you, your loved ones, and your fellow officers, peace and love beyond all understanding. I honor you today. You will NEVER be forgotten.

--"Your life is more important than you can imagine."-- Maya Angelou

** May this Hawaiian prayer give all those who read it comfort. **

THE PEACE OF " I "

As I look at your picture posted I can't help but smile. I know with all my heart that you made this world a better place to live. I know that you have family who loves you, and will continue to share you with others.

As long as there is one person who remembers us... we will always be around. Just know... "Deputy Philip Rodriquez" it will be a pleasure to get to know you, because your Aunt Melody is my best friend, and I'm sure we will spend many a day reflecting upon you, and the young man you grew up to be. May you now protect the "Gates of Heaven" and know that one day it will be a pleasure for me to give you a hug, but until that day... I'll never forget your beautiful smile.

Dear God,
Before I read these many heartfelt words of love for Deputy Rodriguez, I shed tears. I shed these tears for the people that would never know him. Now I shed tears for every person leaving these words. They do know him. They know of his bravery and his heart of gold. They know the sorrow his family and friends suffer. They know the sacrifices he made. They know he’s a hero. The reason they know these things are because they see him in every police officer, deputy and law enforcement person they have ever met. He will live on forever in every badge and shield worn. We will carry him with us. I have never been prouder to be a police officer. God, bless these people, bless Philip’s family, bless his friends, bless CARLOTA Class 95 and thank you for sharing P-Rod with us.
