I was a class mate of Robert John Yelenosky, his son, and I attended the funeral of his father John Yelenosky. They lived about 6 houses from where I lived in Lynch, Ky.

It is so nice to see my grandfather remembered here. I am very sad that I never had the chance to meet him, especially when there is so much he had yet to offer.

It is so nice that people who knew you well are able to memorialize you here and share their memories. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 63rd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect and your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace

I was always told what a good man he was by my grandmother & father. Sharp dresser(I've seen the pictures), polite & loving. My grandmother never remarried, she could never get over him and move on (rightly so, she loved him so very deeply). I would love to have met him.I'm very proud to carry on his name.

I knew John Yelenosky and his family while living in Lynch as a child. He and my father were good friends and I still remember him stopping by our house, in uniform, to visit. I was impressed. I was more impressed because my father kept saying what a good guy he was. I remember his death and do to this day. We were all so sad for his wife and boys.
When I hear the term "good cop" John Yelenosky still comes to mind 58 years later. Thank you Officer Yelenosky.
