Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Andrew Esparza

I had the Honor of being a Field Training Officer for Andrew. I had also trained his brother, Ralph. Everyday of training, Andrew came to work with a smile on his face and an eagerness to learn. He showed such an excitement to be a part of this great profession. I miss you my brother. May God's love comfort your family.
When I start my tour of duty God, Wherever crime may be, as I walk the darkened streets alone, Let me be close to thee. Please give me understanding with both the young and old. Let me listen with attention until their story's told. Let me never make a judgement in a rash or callous way, but let me hold my patience let each man have his say. Lord if some dark and dreary night, I must give my life, Lord, with your everlasting love, protect my loving Family.

Andrew you will be deeply missed. You always had a way of making everyone smile. If we weren't giving each other a hard time or talking about a recent call we were on it seemed we were always laughing. I truly feel honored to have been lucky enough to call you my friend. Ralph, you an your brother set the example of how close brothers can be, I truly admire that. Your entire family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Drew,

As I write this, two things come to mind, one is the memory of our hunting group taking Lynch on his first "Snipe Hunt" at my parents ranch; the other is the quiet strength you displayed in our academy class. You were confident without being either boastful or egotistical. You were a great classmate and a great officer. You truly were doing what you were meant to do. I could see the pride in your eyes when Ralph helped us with our practicals, and the excitement showed when you were about to embark on the same career path. You will be missed brother, you will be missed.

My deepest condolences to the Esparza family and Irving PD, I am truly sorry for your loss.
