Dear Tom - Soon your community will display its appreciation for your sacrifice. The honor guard stationed near your coffin, the flag-draped casket, the hugs and tears shed over your loss, the caravan of police cars of departments from all over the United States, the volly of shots in salute to you, and finally the piper playing "Amazing Grace" and the bugler sounding "Taps". Sadly, this event will occur many more times; I wish it weren't so.

Your family is very proud of you, Tom, as are the rest of us who serve or have served our citizens and communities. Have a pleasant journey.

Officer Thomas Lindsey you will forever be a Hero, you make all who grieve your death proud of all your accomplishments and your ultimate sacrifice doing a job you so truly loved. The Utica community will sorely miss you and your commitment to the job to help protect and keep order and secure them from the evils of the drug world. Rest in Peace you did your job serving your country and your community as one of America’s best of the best. I can only hope that there is another young man or women just waiting to take the oath of office and who will be willing to put on the badge and take up the commitment you so truly lived. Crime will not go away for us who you leave behind but for you it now ends, rest in peace.

Officer Lindsey, I will pray that your dept. will have thhe strength to find your murderer and your DA to prosecute him. I will also pray for your family and friends. You did not deserve to leave this earth like this. It should have been at home with your loved ones. It saddens me that you had to give your life in such a senseless act. Our community just buried two of its finest officers last week. The emotions are still so raw. You were a true hero to your community and although we have never met, we are bound together by this brotherhood. You will never be forgotten. My condolences to your family and to the family of the Utica Police Department, for they will have a hard road ahead without you. Rest in peace brother, we'll take the watch from here.
