Thomas Lindsey rest in peace, you did your job and now you can rest in peace in the arms of God. Evil men did not like what you were all about and this is why you were at such a risk. You answered your call to serve your country as a U.S. Marine Corporal and then you again answered the call to higher education to earn an Associate Degree from Mohawk Valley Community College, but then you choose to go for your ultimate dream to serve the community that you grew up in and take the oath of office and wear the badge of honor as a Police Officer with Utica P.D. The citizens of Utica, N.Y. as well as all the surrounding communities thank you for all that you did in your short time of service to our country. You will never be forgotten and may many more men ane women take up your path and be examples of what being an American is all about. Peace & Love Officer Thomas Lindsey.

I am so sorry for your loss. Your brother died doing what he wanted to do, and that is how most of us want to go out. I am feeling your family's pain, as I am just a month and a half from where you are now. My brother is Det. Keith Thomas Dressel. He was killed on Ash Wednesday of this past year. He was young like your loved one. I am the older sibling. I know that there are no words to bring you comfort. Just please know that my prayers are with your family, and I am sorry. I don't know how I can help you, but if someone-a sibling of Thomas' needs to talk, I would be more than willing to talk with you. This is all new to me as well, and I am starting on this journey that I wish I never had to go on. But, I am willing to reach out and help if I can. Maybe we will be able to help each other. Thomas, rest in peace.

Officer Lindsey, please rest in peace. I cringe at the ruthless act this person did to you. I pray that we find that SOB and justice will prevail. You will never be forgotten by those lives in which you've touched directly or indirectly. Watch over your fellow brothers and sisters but rest easy knowing we've got it from here. You've done your time in hell so now you can enjoy heaven. Thank you for your service.

To his family, my thoughts and prayers are with you at these times of sorrow. I'm sorry.
