Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Sean Robert Clark

THE FAMILY, FRIENDS AND CO-WORKERS OF THIS HERO ARE IN MY PRAYERS

I WAS GLAD TO HEAR THAT A SUSPECT WAS CAUGHT!!!! I RAN UPON THIS POEM,

"THE CALL"

"THE CALL" came in and the Officer was sent
Just another day at work, so lights and sirens he went
The Officer arrived at the scene in a hurry
He exited his squad car without having a worry

It happened so fast when he arrived on "THE CALL"
The officer didn't know that today he'd be giving his all
The perp drew his gun and he fired a round
The hero in blue was shot and he fell to the ground

His brothers in blue arrived to see the melee unravel
They rose up their weapons at the suspect as he started to travel
The Officers returned fire with a vengeance like no other
This monster just shot a HUSBAND, a SON, and THEIR BROTHER

The telephone rang and my husband answered "THE CALL"
As my family sat at the table, he rested his head against the wall
The look on his face was unfamiliar, filled with sadness and dread
Tears poured from my eyes because I knew an Officer was dead

We all feel the anger and fear, and our hearts are so sad
As wives of Cops it is hard not to get mad
We mourn for our partners and those who did fall
Just one single moment can change the lives of us all

Because we are bound as families of our men in blue
The death of a Cop hurts even when yours is safe next to you
For no matter where or when an Officer gives his all
It is the love of our men that unites us, and the fear of "THE CALL"

I am so sorry and saddened for your loss. I, like the rest of the people in Charlotte and around the country, am so frustrated at the senselessness and cowardness of this situation. I hope that the family knows that there are so many more people thinking and praying for them than they will ever know. From the people that I know that knew Sean, he was the someone that we would all be blessed to have in our life. Honestly, when I first saw his picture I could see the peace and geniuneness in his smile. I am ultimately happy to know that he knew Christ and I hope that the family finds peace in that. "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain" (Phil 1:21)

Officer Clark, thank you for your courageous service. I'm just an "average joe" citizen, but I vow that you'll never be forgotten. My prayers (and tears) are with your wife and son, family, friends, and Police brothers and sisters. I wish safety for all our brave Officers. God Bless.

“REMEMBER ME”
Law enforcement officers are, indeed, a special breed of people. Ask anyone on the street and they will tell you that they would not have our jobs for anything in the world. It takes something special to do what we do and at the same time be able to even contemplate retirement. We try to be optimists. Unfortunately, there are a few of us who will never make that date with retirement. By the very nature of our job, we are at risk everyday of losing our lives, either at the hand of some deranged individual or in some other situation that we, by virtue of our occupation, may be unable to avoid. Some people have recognized the hazardous duties we involve ourselves in, the risks we take, and the pride we take in accomplishing that job. There is National Law Enforcement Week, dedicated to us who gladly accept the responsibility of protecting the citizens in our respective jurisdictions. National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Day is dedicated to those who gave their lives in the line of duty. These are but two examples of remembrances specifically for law enforcement personnel. Remembrances that come but once a year. We should remind fellow officers of another type of remembrance, one that will last a lifetime. Sooner or later, a doctor will pronounce us dead. It is inevitable. Regardless of whatever happens, death is the end we will all have to face.

Officer Clark, the only time I ever use the word Hero is when I am leaving a reflection for an officer such as yourself! Thank you sir for the life you lived and for the life you gave! You will never be forgotten. To all the Clark family, may God give you all the grace and strength you need through this time of great loss. To all the CMPD family, my sympathies and prayers go out to you as well. I will be praying for you as you continue the watch! Know assuredly that all you do is NOT in vain, Romans 13:4!

The policeman stood and faced his God,which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman. How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To my church have you been true?
The policeman squared his shoulders and said.
"No, I guess I ain't because those of us who carry a badge can't always be a Saint."
I've had to work most Sundays
and at times my talk is rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny that wasn't mine to keep...
though I worked a lot of overtime when the bills got to steep.
And I never passed a cry for help
though at times I shook with fear,
and sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place among the people here.
They never wanted me around except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much, but if you don't...I'll understand"
There was a silence all around the throne where the Saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly for the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman.
You've borne you burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets.
You've done your time in Hell"

Rest in peace fellow brother
Police Officer's Prayer to St. Michael

Saint Michael, heaven's glorious commissioner of police,
who once so neatly and successfully cleared God's premises
of all its undesirables, look with kindly and professional
eyes on your earthly force.

Give us cool heads, stout hearts, and uncanny flair for
investigation and wise judgement.

Make us the terror of burglars, the friend of children and
law-abiding citizens, kind to strangers, polite to bores,
strict with law-breakers and impervious to temptations.

You know, Saint Michael, from your own experiences
with the devil that the police officer's lot on earth is not
always a happy one; but your sense of duty that so
pleased God, your hard knocks that so surprised the
devil, and your angelic self-control give us inspiration.

And when we lay down our night sticks, enroll us in your
heavenly force, where we will be as proud to guard the
throne of God as we have been to guard the city of all
the people. Amen.

This is my shield,I bear it before me into battle, but it is not mine alone. It protects my brother on my left. It protects my city. I will never let my brother out of it's shadow nor my city out of it's shelter. I will die with my shield before me facing the enemy.

Remember those who have gone before us,because no one dies unless they are forgotten. You did not lost your life, you gave it in service to the citizens of Charlotte-Mecklenburg. A TRUE HERO

I AM HONORED TO LEAVE THIS REFLECTION TO THE FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND COWORKERS OF OFFICER SEAN CLARK. MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND COMFORT YOU WITH HIS LOVE, MERCY, AND PRESENCE DURING THIS TERRIBLE TIME IN YOUR LIVES. GOD KNOWS HOW YOU FEEL. IT WAS OVER 2000 YEARS AGO HIS SON WAS KILLED BY A ANGRY MOB. MAY OUR LORD AND SAVIOR CARRY YOU OVER OR AROUND THIS MOUNTAIN THAT ONE HAS TO COME UPON IN ONE'S LIFE. TO MY FALLEN BROTHER IN LAW ENFORCEMENT, MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND MAY THE PEOPLE IN CHARLOTTE NEVER FORGET THE SACRIFICE THAT YOU MADE, SO THEY CAN LIVE IN PEACE AND SAFETY. How do you start to say thank you for the service, the sacrifice, these officers give every day? I've been there and done the job these people do.The pay,the perks, the status...Is this the reason they do this job? No. Most officers feel the calling to give something back, to make a difference. And they do.And as with these officers, like far to many others, they make the ULTIMATE SACRIFICE. With a heavy heart I heard the news "Officer Down."I have several freinds who work for CMPD.Officer Wes and his brother are two of them. That was a long night...Respect and prayers for all who wear the badge. Be safe, thanks for protecting me and my family.Condolence to the Officers Families and friends. We greive with you..

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Ofc. Clark. Please take some solace in the fact that he died a hero, and likely saved the lives of others by giving his own life. To the members of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, it's hard to image the tragedy of losing two officers at once. My thoughts and prayers go out to you as well. To Ofc. Clark, you will always be remembered and honored for making this ultimate sacrifice. Please keep a watchful eye over your brothers and sisters in blue.
