15 years...and new people still learn about your life, your service, and your untimely death. Go find Terry and Jason and buy 'em a beer till I catch up. ~CO

When you went to heaven, a huge part of me went with you. I live in that day forever, never willing to let go of you, and forever holding you tight to my chest as the lord called you home. I cannot believe you are gone to this very day! This world is less without you in it. My promise to you is that I will ALWAYS spend my days “Living 4 Two” and represent your memory and your family name with honor and respect until the day we meet again brother.

Ronnie,

I think of you often although we met only briefly on that day in Seattle. It has been 13 years now and I still remember the sun, the sound of our teams on the radio, and the feeling of being out on the water. I wish I could have done better, that I could have saved you that day. I will forever be sorry I could not do more. Every year, a wreath is laid in the water out by the ferry docks - you will always be remembered. My only prayer is that I have lived well enough to do right by you.

I woke early this morning to think of words....words that could possibly describe how I feel today. I concluded, that it was impossible. There are no words I could even come up with other than to quote PO Gill's family... "Please know that you are loved by all of us, your family, friends, in-laws, fellow law enforcement officers and your “Coasties”. Not a day goes by that we do not think of you and thank you for your sacrifice. You will always be forever in Our hearts."

Blesses to to the Gill Family.

As I often look through the many reflections that are everywhere on the web, I realize more and more what a beautiful person you were. Each day I am with Gracie I am able to see a part of you in person. To hold her in my arms, tickle her until she cannot laugh anymore, talk to her about her "DAD", what a hero he was and how much he would have loved her makes me both happy and sad. Looking at Mom each day and seeing the sadness etched on her face is the most difficult daily challenge about losing you. Hearing the emptiness in JonJon's voice when we talk about you is sometimes a bit overwhelming. Whoever said that it would get easier as time goes by apparently never lost a chiuld, especially one as beautiful as you...I love you Ronnie and I miss you more and more each day. Love, Dad.

I remember one of the finest days of my professional life.

I was leaving the unit after a long day and observed Gill cleaning his weapons after a series of exhausting tactical shoothouse ranges.

The smell of solvent...the dirty swaps... I could tell that he was tired..yet when I asked him what was he was doing...HIS EYES LIT UP. He reported that he was making his weapon ready for the next mission, then he smiled the biggest smile I have ever seen.

God Bless you, Petty Officer Gill.

We're on day 2 of the Law Enforcement United Ride "Road To Hope". On day 1, we took the ferry on the Jamestown River. A police boat escorted us the entire way across the river. While looking at the police boat, I glanced down and noticed a lady bug on the railing of the ferry. Along with the police boat, Ronnie was keeping us safe...

At this moment 3 years ago, i was at the movies with some friends. Little did i know, in a few hours i would be seeing two coast guardsmen standing at my front door, ready to deliver the worst news possible. "we're sorry to inform you, but earlier today, Ronald Gill Jr. was killed." Those words echo in my mind every single day. I am honored to call you my best friend, and lucky to call you my brother. You will never truly die, because your memory and love will live on in all of us.
