I cannot begin to explain how different patrol will be without you. I am going to miss your good humor at 2000 chow. Your knowledge and integrity were an asset to our team and department. Thank you for your friendship.

I came to know Doug last May when I came to District 2 swings. Doug had a great sense of humor and was just a very pleasant person. I discovered as time went on that we had some things in common and he was my friend. Doug bid my team this year and it was an honor for me to have been his Sergeant. Semper Fi my friend. HAL

Doug, I only got to know you a few months back. Your impact on me as a fellow Officer and a friend was immediate. Thanks for asking me to come and work with your team, it wasn't a hard choice.

Your sense of humor and practical jokes would always be something to look forward to.

My friend, a Guinness will always be waiting for you in 'The Irish Snug.'

To the Aurora Police Department, Glendale Police Department, and the family of Officer Doug Byrne.

How does one say good bye to such a wonderful person. I had the privilege of working with Officer Byrne while I was a volunteer at the Glendale Police Department and while I was in charge of security at the Greek Festival.

A heart of gold, this is truly one of the greatest losses the law enforcement community of Colorado has suffered.

R.I.P. Doug and may God be with your family.

I only met Doug a few months back, but in that short time I knew him I found him to be a great person. While I was a recruit on his FTO team, he was always willing to answer any silly questions I had. He was always funny and helped me and the other recruits on the team fit in. Doug will be sorely missed.
My family's prayers go out to you, your family and friends.
