Officer Wells you are a hero, my brother. Although I didn't know you, I know that you touched the hearts and lives of many young people in the Moncks Corner area. Sir, you have inspired me to be a better person, and a better police officer. I was there the day that the incident occurred, and I cried when I learned what had happened. Thank you for your service. I did not know Officer Wells, but he was a brother, none the less. By a line blue line we are united and I grieve with the family and friends of Officer Wells, just as we grieve for our own brothers lost here in Charlotte. Officer Wells' life touched more people than anyone will know, and may each of you be comforted in knowing that God will reward him for it. I pray for each of you that your hurt will be lifted with God's unfailing love during this time. God bless and protect Moncks Corner Police.

I last saw Mike as I know him on graduation night 1984. Our lives took different paths; however he was all ways in my thoughts as I spoke with other classmates. His death leaves me with a realization that if I am to see my old friend again. I must live holy because I know he is somewhere around God's throne. Rest in peace my military brother. I know when you entered heaven...the room was called to attention...I salute YOU.

I was saddened when I heard that my friend and classmate had fallen in the line of duty in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. Mike, as we affectionally call him, was the life of our class. I can remember when he had our twentieth class reunion and Mike arrived in a white suit, white hat and white shoes. He was always the laughter of the crowd and could make anyone smile. I will truly miss Mike and will be praying for the Wells Family. Finally, I would like to thank the Moncks Corner Police Department for giving Mike the opportunity that he always dreamed of, to be a police officer. Mike always wanted to help others and that what he gave his life doing. A special thank you to the Moncks Corner Police Department, Berkeley County Sheriff's Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol for all of the professionalism and courtesy that they extended to the Wells Family during their bereavement.

Officer Wells was a person you could never say I dont like him or dont want him around me he was always a person who you would want to be around and was always caring and had a personality that nobody I know has yet tell I meet him at the Timberland Game when my mom and him would work at them my mom was close to Officer Wells and would come home and say nothing bad about him.Always good and funny things. When I first meet him I thought he was to nice and had a big heart and mouth. One Day I came to the Police Department looking for my mom and I said Officer Wells did you see my mom a he said let me go find her for you then I said no you dont have to do that because your busy getting your stuff straight in your trunk he said again I'll go so he went in to go look for her. After that while I was in there everytime he passes by me he would say you want something to drink or something to snack on, but that was everytime he past me he was always caring God his personality you could never forget and when he walks in the room not even 2 minutes he has you laughing. One night coming back from the Timberland game, the school bus was in front of us and he was in front of the school bus so he had his lights on with us running through red lights cause the players had to go to the school and go home he was acking crazy in a fun way my brothers and sisters were laughing the whole entire way to Berkely High School he was just a person with actually life in him he could have problems or something in his life but he would never have shown it.Officer Wells you would never be forgotten cause since March 25th when I was at the scene you would always be in my mind and heart cause I think about you everyday.Saying why Officer Wells? You are worth going all the way to Quincy Florida with the Berkely County and Moncks Corner Police Officers for you and seeing you for the last time.I wish you were here but I cant change that I will miss those moments or times cause I never thought that would be the last time with you cause I wish I could relive those moments with you.Your Family did it big for you in your home town they drove you through your Hometown It was nice and will never be forgotten of what you did and what they did for you.Wheres the laughter going to be at now in the Police Department when I walk through there. Its a shame what that man did no heart took a Beautiful man out this world for nothing,I know your in a better place with God watching us and smiling up there making jokes.I will always miss you and never forgotten I will always wish you were here!!!!!!!
