It's been almost 10 years since this tragic event happen. In those ten years, I have continue to hold you near, and dear to my heart. You were not only a brother in arms, but, you were, and will forever be my true brother. I don't know if life will ever bring someone else in my life to replace the laughter, joy, and love you always displayed on a daily bases, but I do know that what you brought to the table will always have a very special place in my heart. The time spent together with you and your family, I will cherish for life. God gave me a true friend for life in you, and a brother who I will never forget. Hand in Hand, true blue forever. Former Moncks Corner Police Corporal.

Lonnie, this is the first time I visited this page. I can't express what you meant to all of us, especially my son. I remember the day it happened, I told my son that two officers had been shot in town, his first words in reply were, "Oh God, I hope it wasn't Lonnie." I will never forget the look on his face when I had to tell him. He had just lost his mother 3 months before.

He still remembers (and talks about) the time you shared with him while we were working the roads. I don't believe he will ever forget you, as I am sure I will not.

I know you are in heaven now and you can probably see down here, if you can then you know that since I lost you my life has changed tons.I moved to mississippi and I go to a new high school, yes I still make the AB honor roll like you always said I better. If I never met you I dont know who I would be today. You gave me guidness and I thank you for every bit of it. I remember many things about you like the valentines day dance and all the other dances you threw for us, I remember how you took some of us to mcdonalds just to get a cheesebugar for lunch, and how you would sing rap music and play it for us in your potrol car in the afternoons while we were waiting for our buses, and how on the hot days you sold us sodas because you cared so much..
I also remember how every time I would do something bad, You and officer tarr were always the two that caught me.
