Rest in Peace, Patrolman Lange. Your sacrifice is not forgotten.

For the last ten years my father worked to get his father honored with a star on the CPD headquarters wall, but he was informed that because his father had not died "in the line of fire", he would not get the star. Instead his name was inscribed on an outdoor memorial near Soldier Field. Henry Lange's inclusion on the ODMP would have pleased my dad greatly.

He died on April 5, 2012.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 83rd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect, not even 83 years.

Rest In Peace
