To the family, friends, and officers that knew Sr Corporal Nix, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you face the trying times ahead of you. Please know your not alone.

Here I am, lost in the light of the moon that comes through my window
Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you and the roses

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow

Here I am, lost in the ashes of time, but who wants tomorrow?
In between the longing to hold you again
I'm caught in your shadow, I'm losing control
My mind drifts away, we only have today

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way
I will sacrifice 'til the blinding day when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow

When the veils are gone as I let you go, as I let you go

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way, I will sacrifice
Now I'm living in your afterglow

Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you who is closest

HEROES WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!

My thoughts and prayers are with you during this tragic time in your lives. I know what pain you are feeling at this very moment. Remember Mark died doing what he loved to do. It takes a very special person to be a Police Officer. God gives them the strength to do the job they do. God also decides when he calls them home. He is in Heaven and assigned to his new beat with all the other law enforcements officers who have also lost their lives.

Your family will always be in my thoughts and prayers. God bless each of you during this time.

Mark I can't believe that you are gone. I will always remember the good times we had in the academy as well as the laughs we had while riding bikes down here in the Central Business District. This is a painful reminder of how dangerous our job can be. You were my partner, a great friend, and it was a great honor to say that I worked with such a great man. Thank you for your service and dedication to the Dallas community and your country. This is very hard for me right now, but your family must know that I as well as the entire Dallas PD family will keep them in our prayers. Rest easy now brother. We will continue the watch for you. The sacrifices that you and Brian have made over the last few years will never be forgotten. Watch over us as well as the other men and women all over the country who walk the thin blue line day in and day out. You will be missed. We love you man!!!!!!! Until we meet again.......

It is with a heavy heart that once again we are writing to this reflection page with the loss of another brother from Dallas PD.

Sr. Cpl. Nix-
"May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine upon your face. May the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, May the Lord hold you in the palm of his hand."

Sr.Cpl. Nix & Ofc. B. Jackson; "please watch over us on our beat this day and every day. Grant that each weary block we walk may ease a brothers way. Let us be kindly to the old and to the young. Let us be strong. Let us triumph over those who act cruel or wrong and if according to your plan, we are to lose our life, please bless us with your protecting hands."

"A Part Of America Died,"
Somebody killed a policeman today,
And part of America died.
A piece of our country he swore to protect,
Will be buried with him at his side.
The suspect that shot him will stand up in court,
With counsel demanding his rights.
While a young widowed mother must work for her kids,
And spend many long lonely nights.
The beat he walked was a battle field too
just as if he had gone off to war.
Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half mast,
To his name they will add a gold star.
Yes, somebody killed a policeman today,
In your town or mine,
While we slept in comfort behind locked doors,
A cop put his life on the line.
Now his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street,
And stands at each new rookies' side.
He answered the call,of himself and gave his all,
And a part of America died.
*anonymous*
Here we are again saying goodbye to an officer that was taken out at such a young age. He gave his all and it was taken away by someone who had no value for another's life. How tragic is that.
To the family, loved ones, and all who knew Senior Corporal Nix we will keep you all close to our hearts and in our prayers.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL
