Mark, I never met you, but listened to many stories from your friend and fellow officer Sallie. She told me how the first time she met you and named you "Brother Ben". I have listened to her recently as she reflected on the love, and friendship she had for you. She called you one of her "kids". You are truely going to be missed by many who worked with you. You EOW may have come, but your new journey with God has just begun. I recently had someone say that there are three types of animals in this world. The lamb, the sheep dog, and the wolf. You were the sheep dog (and a darn good one from what I hear)watching over the lamb to protect from the wolf! God be with your family and friends as they go through this time of loss.

I am so very sorry about the death of Officer Nix. I don't know him but have heard he was a very brave police officer as well as serving his country in the Navy. I saw the funeral on the news and it really moved me. Our police officers risk their lives each and every day......and deserve more repect and pay. Please extend my deepest sympathy to his family and fellow officers and friends. It is a very sad day in Dallas. God Bless.

First and foremost, I want to send my condolences to the Nix family. We may have lost a hero, but we have gained another angel!! It is never easy to deal with losing someone so special. It's even harder to accept death when someone lives their life to help other people. Know that Mark is in a better place and looking down on all of you with a smile. He wouldn't want you to be sad, he would want you to celebrate his life and remember all the great things he has done.... and the many smiles he has left on so many faces. Rest In Peace and know you are never forgotten!!!
