May God hold you especially close today as you remember Donald. I hold you in my prayers as well. God will grant peace and comfort to his family, friends and co-workers on this most difficult anniversary.

From my own personal experience, I know that men who take on this job live it to the utmost. They are men of compassion, faith and dedication to others.

Thank you for your service and dedication. Rest well, warrior, your job on Earth is done. Your brothers and sisters will continue on in your stead.

You made sure a fellow officers killer was caught. I am sure he was waiting at the gates of heaven to welcome you in. I am so sorry you lost your life to a careless driver who in my mind is also a cop killer. Thank you for all you did. You will remain in the hearts and minds of all those how were lucky enough to have known you. Gone but not forgotten.....

Dear Family, Friends & Co-Workers of Deputy Wass,
As the first anniversary of the passing of Deputy Wass
nears, may you find comfort in knowing that my prayers are with you. That God will continue to keep His arms around you and give you peace that passes all understanding. Donald will never be forgotten, as Hero's never die. As Donald took his final flight, He entered Heaven's gates with a host of Fallen Officer's standing at attention, saluting, saying "Welcome Home Brother". He now patrols streets of gold. We do not or will ever know the answers to our "WHY'S", We only know that God decides He needs the very best with Him..
When Deputy Wass, went home, He took part of your heart with him, and left part of his with you..Donald now stands at Heaven's portal and watches over you every day.
Deputy Wass, Thank You Sir, for your service and the sacrifice you made For Washington County and the great state of Texas. You will never be forgotten and will always be appreciated for trying to keep the streets safe for us.
Continue to keep watch over your family and your Brother's and Sister's in Blue...Rest in Peace and know you will forever be one of our Hero's..
Family, my prayers are with you. and please know that others care...Mother-in-law of: Sgt. Jeffrey Hewitt EOW 04-04-04 Carolyn Moore Asheville,N.C.

My loving husband...I miss you so much. It seems impossible that it has been a year since I kissed you goodbye for the last time. Not a day goes by that I don't miss you terribly. It amazes me how much Jolie has grown in the past year. My heart breaks every time I look at her, knowing that she is growing up with out her daddy. You were such a wonderful and loving father. It just seems so unfair that she is growing up without you. I am so fortunate to have Jolie. WIthout her, I just don't know how I could go on living without you. I waited so long to find you and to live without you is the hardest thing I have ever had to do. Life just isn't the same without you. I miss you and love you so much.
