I was a classmate of Justin in the 48th Game Warden Academy. Justin was the Warden we all wanted to be. I hope his family can take peace in knowing how many people Justin impacted in his life. I spent six months living and training with Justin and still to this day I find myself in situations thinking, how would Justin have handled this. I can't find the words to describe this man. He was as solid as they come. God bless him and his family.

Although we dont know why tragedies such as this happen you all need to stay strong for each other and for his little girl. I started visiting this page a few weeks ago when one of our own was shot and killed in the line of duty. The outpouring of support his family, the police, and their families received was something I never expected. I sincerely hope that you can find comfort in knowing that your "family" of fellow law enforcement officers and their loved ones is strong and vast. Officer Hurst is one of us as are you...forever and always. His sacrifice will never be forgotten.
