Though unarmed, you saw your duty and followed this crazed man. Had no one kept him in sight, who knows what else this man may have done and how many more he may have killed. Officer Marshalik, you and your partner, Officer Pekearo are heroes in the truest sense. You put yourselves in harms way for the sake of others. It was with much sadness I learned of your deaths and my heart goes out to all who know and love you and to the New York City Auxiliary Police. Though unpaid and unarmed, you give of yourselves for the benefit of others. God Bless you all, especially these fallen men.

Your service and sacrifice for the good of humanity will be remembered and appreciated. Having had the privilege of taking care of many, many officers as a Chiropractor in New York, and having a son "on the job" there, I sadly know what your family must be suffering. Your work and loss was not in vain. You made this a better world.

I am very saddened to hear of the deaths of these fine officers, who volunteered to serve their community, city and fellow citizens. They now walk a beat in Heaven, as their last roll call was completed here on earth. I offer my sincere condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of these heroes in blue. I do hope that hte NYPD will consider arming its auxillary officers in the wake of this tragedy. Greather love hath no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. John 13:15. Rest easy we have the watch from here.

I heard about the shooting on the news, you and your partner went out of your way to make sure a killer didn't disappear into the night. Both of you were unarmed facing up against an armed man but that didn't stop either of you from following him until backup arrived. Thanks to your quick thinking other officers were able to keep a killer from killing again. I am so sorry that both of you had to lose your lives in order to keep all of us safe from harm.
Rest Easy, you will not be forgotten.
