This is the one thing that every family dreads to hear. At first it comes to everyone as shock and after two or few days, you realize that your son, your brother, your father, uncle or cousin is no longer going to be there. That's when it hurts and everything becomes real.. My thoughts and Prayers are with your family.. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication..

The story of your courage and bravery in protecting the public truly touched my heart. You are the definition of hero and shall never be forgotten. My deepest sympathy to the family, friends and co-workers of this fine Officer.

We offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends and colleagues of Officer Pekearo and we honor his distinguished service to the cause of justice and peace. Sadly, our nation has lost one of its finest citizens, a community has lost a friend and protector, and a family has lost an example of character and courage who they will love and respect forever. Today, because of the sacrifice Officer Pekearo has made, the house of freedom is stronger, sturdier, and more secure.

To the family and friends of Officer Pekearo, I would like you to know that a lot of people pray for you, and my hope is that their prayers will give you the strength necessary to move on. Just as you were always with him when he walked the beat or patrolled the streets, know that he will always be with you - wherever you may be. In the days to follow, may you be strengthened by the fact that Officer Pekearo is a man distinguished by exceptional courage and will always be admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. You, your family and your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Brother,
Rest in peace knowing that the inhuman scum that took your life no longer walks on this earth. Your brothers at the NYPD took care of this when he tried to kill them and he was slain for his actions. Your dedication and courage in helping others in evident in your walking the beat as an unarmed auxiliary officer. You and your partner showed great courage in following the suspect so that he would be held accountable for his actions. Condolences to your friends and family at this difficult time.
Walk the beat in heaven and we will continue the fight down here on earth. God bless you.

Two men who volunteered their time, so visitors and residents of New York can feel safer.Knowing that you were unarmed you took the same risks that sworn members of the department took. That was a strong sign of courage. New York's loss will be heaven's gain. Rest in peace my BROTHER in blue.

To the family, friends, and officers that knew Officer Pekearo, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you face the trying times ahead of you. Please know your not alone.

Here I am, lost in the light of the moon that comes through my window
Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you and the roses

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow

Here I am, lost in the ashes of time, but who wants tomorrow?
In between the longing to hold you again
I'm caught in your shadow, I'm losing control
My mind drifts away, we only have today

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way
I will sacrifice 'til the blinding day when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow

When the veils are gone as I let you go, as I let you go

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way, I will sacrifice
Now I'm living in your afterglow

Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you who is closest
