Last Year Patrolman Birt's Only son and my beloved Grandfather Bobby O'neil Birt Passed away in Gastonia, North Carolina. Before he passed He handed me this picture above. This picture above was one of the few photos our family had of Patrolman Birt. After Patrolman Birt Passed away the house he lived in with both my Great Grandmother and Grandfather burned to the ground. This Picture was some of the few items left. He gave me this picture and it ment alot to him. It was his Daddy, The father that died young. Patrolman Birt was described as a wonderful human being. My Great Grandmother, his only wife said he was to "good to live" but however he was a "born policeman". My Grandfather died with only few memories of the man that was his father. He took my Hand and handed me this. "I want you to have it" so our story will live on, and I could pass on one day to my own son Named after Patrolman Birt. I want to thank My Teacher Calvin Shaw, Retired Captain Of the Gaston County Police for sharing this site with me and our family. Because of him , now Patrolman Bryant K. Birt's picture is on here. It is one of the few things we have left of our history as a family that has not been lost.
