God bless the Deese family in their time need. Mike, you were a wonderful person and I am a better person from knowing you. Thanks for the first helicoptor ride, even though you made me ride in the back because you claimed your legs were too long! That was a great time and I will never forget it! You were a caring, loving, compasionate, stong-willed, methodical and giving person. IT showed through the love of your K-9's. Those dogs loved you and you loved them. God speed and rest brother until we meed again...and we will. "Blessed are the Peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God" (Matthew 5:9).

I sit here with such sadness in my heart...I lost my step father in the line of Duty in 2002, and I know what this officer's friends and family are going through. It seems so sad that another life has been taken. My husband is a K9 Officer for Goose Creek City PD and I want you to know that our prayers and thoughts are with all Mike's friend's and family. May peace comfort your hearts. You are not alone. Mike and Sonja will not be forgotten.

As I read other reflections, it is obvious that you were loved at the Dorchester County Sherrif's Dept. It is also obvious that you were a dedicated, caring and humble man. Thank you for the way you lived and the ultimate sacrifice you made. This world needs more heroes and role models such as yourself. You will not be forgotten. To the Deese family, I am praying that God's grace "is sufficient" for you at this time. To all the family at DCSD, take care of the Deese family as I know you will. Also know that you are prayed for as you continue your watch. Thank all of you for all that you do! Romans 13:4.
