Reflections for Sergeant Tommaso Popolizio

Rest in Peace Sergeant, God bless your family, friends, and co-workers. We'll keep you in our prayers.

Police Officer W. Dill
Tampa Police Department

March 4, 2007

My prayers are with the family and friends and of course the newark nj police dept, when even one officer is killed that is too much.I hope this might raise your spirits and make you strong in this time of tragedy.
*****************A Police Officers Life********************
As the Police Officer stood in front of the LORD with his shoulders squared and his shiny badge and shoes. The LORD said how did you stay on the straight and narrow with all that crime on earth, and having seen a officer killed in the line of duty like yourself. The officer said i have kept (PSALM ONE)in my mind all my life and have shone compassion all my life, for i believe there is goodness in people. There was silence all around the throne of the LORD,even the saints stood still. Then the LORD said (Sergeant Tommaso Popolizio)you have truly been righteous with the people on earth, rest your mind and soul for this place is where you belong.
A Police Officers life.it is truly a noble profession indeed!

************************PSALM ONE**************************
Happy are those who do not follow the advice of the wicked,or take the path that sinners tread,or sit in the counsel of scoffers:but their delight is in the law of the LORD,and on his law they meditate day and night.
They are like trees planted by streams of water, which yield their fruit in its season, and their leaves do not wither. In all that they do,they prosper.
The wicked are not so,but are like chaff that the wind drives away.
Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgement, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.AMEN

"Pop", It was an honor to have worked with you. You really were a cop's cop and always ready to back up anyone of us at any given time. You are now in a far better place, but your tour has just begun...we now need you to keep watch over each of us down here while we continue the fight. Until we meet again Brother, you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

"We have every right to dream heroic dreams. Those who say that we're in a time when there are no heroes, they just don't know where to look" President Ronald Reagan

Well those of us in the law enforcement community have to look no further than to officers like SGT Popolizio. Law enforcement officers who go out on our streets each and every day and make our communities safer, keep the forces of evil in check, and who serve and protect their communities in the highest tradition of excellence.

God bless you and your family for your sacrifice for the residents of the City of Newark, the County of Essex, and the State of New Jersey.
