Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Sergeant Tommaso Popolizio

Sergeant Popolizio, you have served your city and your community with honor and dignity, we will carry on from here. To the family of Sergeant Popolizio you all are in our thoughts and prayers. You all are now part of a much larger family that will be there for you always. From reading the reflections left by the troops that you supervised you were the kind of "Boss" that every cop needs to have. To the men and women of the Newark Police Department hold your heads high as you carry on during these difficult times, your "troops" came first. Stay safe and watch each others backs. Rest in Peace...Boss....

IN MY DARKEST HOUR

Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not here. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints of snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight;
I am the stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there. I did not die.

YOU NEVER WALKED ALONE!

I attended high school with Tommaso but had not spoken or seen him since graduation. i remember him as a quiet kid that was really into his studies. Although I am deeply saddend by the news of his passing, i am happy to know that he turned out to be an honorable, respectable, caring person that was loved by so many. My most heart felt condolences and prayers go out the Popolizio family in this trying times.

Pop,
I will always remember the great times we had together. You were the most supportive during the times I needed you the most. You were not only the best supervisor on this job but you were just like a brother to me. I will miss your phone calls asking me to ride tonight and your crazy scenarios. You are with Nick now and I know you will be looking down on us. You will never be forgotten and will be greatly missed. I LOVE YOU AND WILL MISS YOU FOR EVER

REST IN SERGEANT The lord is my shepherd. I shall not want. He maketh me to lie downin green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. Herestoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death i wil fear no evil: for thou art with me thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil: my cup runneth over.Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the for ever.
