Kevin,
Your death has yet to set in. Last night seems like a mean dream. I havent gone to bed yet, cant sleep. I will never forget that radio transmission, "shots fired, officer down." I tried my hardest to get to you, to help you, but I guess it wasnt suppose to be. I will miss your smiling face, your exicted stutters on the radio, and your attitude. You made me smile when I didnt want to, your commitment made me want to work when I didnt. I will never forget the last call that you and I responded to. That Criminal Domestic Violence call. We arrived on scene and there was a 5 year old crying uncontrollably, and you picked him up and held him until he stopped. You got him calmed down, and that was something that his father couldnt do. That showed me the compassion and care that you had for the people you served. Now that your gone, and watching and protecting us from above, its my prayer that you will pick us up, hold us and comforter us as we cry, as we hurt, as we remember. You will never be forgotten Kevin. Its going to be hard to attend roll call on friday, but we will put our badge and weapons on. We will honor your sacrifice by serving those you had a passion for. Rest in peace Kevin, we have the watch.
Your Brother in Blue,
Brandon L
