Kevin and I were classmates at Lamar School in Meridian, MS. He was genuinely one of the nicest guys I ever knew. May God bless his family.

I just listened to a podcast by Trey Gowdy that reflected and honored your heroism as a law enforcement officer. You are the true definition of a great cop! May your sacrifice never be forgotten!

Kevin, It’s hard to believe that you’ve been gone for 13 yrs. I remember hearing of this tragedy and rushing over to your house to comfort Andrea and the girls. They were already surrounded by all of your brothers and sisters in blue and a cone of protection around them. I remember you playing outside with the girls and pulling them in their wagon up and down the neighborhood street. They adored you. You would be so proud of them! I know they have a special angel watching over them. You are loved and missed!

It’s hard to believe it’s been 13 years. I still think of you all the time and love telling old stories about you any time I get the chance. Amanda keeps me up to date on the girls and it sounds like they’re doing great. I miss ya buddy and I’ll never forget you.

Tomorrow is my wedding day!
I’m currently watching all of the memorial videos and reading all of the articles, trying to get as many tears out as possible before I’m in front of an audience.
I'm changing my name again and I can't help but reflect on the last time I changed my name as a little kid. From Fowler to Carper, just like my mom, just like my sisters and just like my dad.
Kevin was kind and funny and sometimes really dorky and annoying the way he would blare Pearl Jam songs. He was the epitome of an exceptional father... Right down to the dad sneakers he wore when he wasn't in uniform.
I loved his sense of humor and daydream about what he would be playing with his grandchildren.
I know he will be there with all of us tomorrow as a protecting and loving father and hero.

Well, it's been a good while since I've posted on here.. The 13th year is coming up soon. But onto the good news! MaryKate graduated high school in May and has already started college. Caroline is here visiting with the family and Kyleigh is engaged! As I've always said, your girls are doing good and I know you'd be extremely happy and proud. Continue to watch over them and protect them, along with the rest of the family. We love you!!

Happy Birthday to our brother Kevin Earl Carper in Heaven

Deputy Kevin Carper
No words can express this pain .

Don’t cry for me today
As I am giving you this penny for your tears
I’m just a star away as you look up I will be looking down
I will shine on within your memories that keeps me
Shine on
Don’t cry for me today
I loved you then, now and forever
Let me shine on
Don’t cry for me today
As I will shine
Shine on
Look up you see I’m that Star
Take this penny for today and don’t cry
I love you
let me shine
Shine on

I love and miss you so very much

I just watched a video of congressman Trey Gowdy speaking of your life of service on the floor of the U.S. Capital. You have had a huge impact on so many people's lives. You are in God's embrace now...a well deserved victory for your humble service to others.

Doesn’t seem like it was 11 years ago.

Several of us have retired since then and some have been called home to Glory. There’s a couple you can smack in the back of the head for me when you see them.
Anyways, you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers tonight and always.

Happy New Year uncle Kevin! Today is grandpa's birthday.. and we'll be singing happy birthday to him like we did for you a couple of months ago. You would have been the big 50! I miss you both so much. The girls were here in August and it was a great visit, just wish it lasted longer. You definitely live through them.. they're so much like you. Dad made the girls blue and black bracelets for Christmas and they wear them everyday. It's hard to believe that MaryKate will be graduating high school next year. I hate that I couldn't make it to Kyleigh's graduation.. so I'm determined to make it to MaryKate's. I know you'll be looking down with a big smile on your face and feeling proud. Thank you for watching over the family and keeping us safe! We love you!

Amanda, Dony and I visited you yesterday. Then we went to go see the new memorial and your monument at the police station. It all looked great! Kyleigh and the kids showed up, too. We tried taking pics but Kolsen kept staring at your face and touched it, it was adorable and Kaecyn kept playing with the rocks and wanted the little flag that was in front of your monument. I'm sure you got a good laugh out of it. Your grand kids are so precious and you'd be so proud of Kyleigh. Her and Danny are doing a great job raising those kids. MaryKate and Caroline are coming up for a visit in August! We're all excited. We love and miss you and wish you could be here more than anything.

Kevin,

Got pulled over today in Johnson City, TN for work today. I was speeding, struck up conversation and he saw my condor hat with TBL patch. I realized we are almost at 10 years. Unbelievable. Seems like yesterday where we ate BBQ that night and shared some special time before you were taken. I miss you brother. Golf game will never be the same and my life has forever changed. Think of you every single day. Sure wish you could meet my wife and kids. The girls are so beautiful and you would be so proud. Officer today offered to dismiss the ticket today, I refused. You would have given me that ticket and I deserved it. I love you man! Godspeed and until we meet again old friend!
