Reflections for Lieutenant Dexter Holcomb

I know I never had the chance to meet you, but through your son and how highly he thought and spoke of you, I know you were a great person. I'm sorry your life ended so shortly lived. I know you will continue to Serve and Protect us from up above, and that you will always be there for all of us. I know Adam will make you SOO proud, because he is going to grow up to be just like you, and all of your fellow officers I'm sure will take him under their wing, and teach him everything he needs to know. God Bless and may you R.I.P

I worked with several of the Oxford Police Officers, and my brother was once an Oxford Police Officer. Those men are very dedicated to their jobs, spending countless time away from home to help protect and serve the public. I would just like to say, that there are people out here who appreciate all that they do. To Lieutenant Holcombs' family, may God Bless You.

You were such a dedicated officer to take traffic duty on your day off. Our prayers go out to your family during this time. Your devotion to the job caused you to volunteer your time to ensure the safety for our children, and this ultimately cost you your life. We will always remember you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rest in peace Dexter Holcomb, you have left a empty spot that can never be filled - it's going to seem strange not to see you around town. I pray that the Lord will give your family peace and comfort, Thank you for all the protection you gave our city- you were always there doing whatever was needed. You always went the extra mile - doing more than was expected of you and that was what made you the wonderful person that you were and the man that everyone knew, loved, and respected! Thanks to your sweet family for lending you to our city- you will be missed!

As I worked at Oxford for 11 years, 3 was spent as a Sgt. under Lt. Holcomb's command. I left for a for a break to run my family business and 6 years later..I'm back doing what we all love. As you re-certified me in my firearms training, you told me you considered me a true friend and in return, I said and meant the same. As we all lost a brother,I feel for the family, a lost husband, a lost father, and I lost a friend. Rest in peace.
