Brother, no other actions could possibly define the word hero the way that yours does. I pray for your family that they may find strength knowing full well that your actions probably saved numerous people that night including other officers. Always watch over your law enforcement brethren and know that you will never be forgotten.

Mrs Browne - There are no words to express our sadness for the loss of your son. It is never easy to understand the selfless acts that take our heroes from us. May you find comfort in knowing that many share your pain and grief and pray for Dans safe arrival home. There he will meet those gone before him, and together they make up a 'department' of angels that continue to serve endlessly and selflessly. To the State of Hawaii Sheriff's Department - thank you for your committment and bravery. We pray for safety and healing as you continue to serve in the wake of your loss. RIP Deputy Sheriff Daniel Browne-Sanchez... You will be missed and never forgotten...

I have been a Policeman longer than you were alive.I've seen many selfless acts of bravery in 34 years on the street. I've seen men younger than you, older than you, struck down and forgotten too soon by those that we serve.

Rest in peace, secure in the knowledge that those who wear the badge will never forget your courage, your dedication and your sacrifice. You stood for something. You made us proud. You made a difference.

An old warrior once described some other young men, much like yourself, when he said "Uncommon valor was a common virtue". There is a special place in heaven for such men. Go now. Take your place among them. You earned it.

Dan you are a true Hero. You gave your life to protect others and I will remember you everyday I put on the uniform. I still can't beleive what happened. I was just talking to you the other day at the firing range waiting in line to do those drills. I keep thinking about what you did and how brave you were in your actions. I know you are up there with GOD right now looking down on us still protecting.
