Reflections for Police Officer Shawn Joshua Dean Williams

To the family, friends, and officers that knew Officer Williams, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you face the trying times ahead of you. Please know your not alone.

Here I am, lost in the light of the moon that comes through my window
Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you and the roses

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow

Here I am, lost in the ashes of time, but who wants tomorrow?
In between the longing to hold you again
I'm caught in your shadow, I'm losing control
My mind drifts away, we only have today

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way
I will sacrifice 'til the blinding day when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow

When the veils are gone as I let you go, as I let you go

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way, I will sacrifice
Now I'm living in your afterglow

Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you who is closest

To the family, friends, and all law enforcement officers no matter what color of uniform. Here at the Canon City Internet Radio we are saddened to hear of another officer who has lost his life in the line of duty. We will pray for you all and you will be remembered as a HERO always.
"A Letter From Heaven"
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say.
But first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from Heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; Here is just enternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I am with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through
God picked me up and hugged me and he said,'I welcome you.
It's good to have you back again, you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, They'll be here later on.
I need you here badly, you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.'
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night the days chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....In the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years.
Because you are only human they are bound to bring tears.
But do not be afraid to cry: it does relieve the pain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
If I were to tell you, you would not understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is over.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you, and many hills to climb;
But together we can do it by taking one step at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you to;
That as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain;
Then you can say to God at night...."My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented...that my life was worthwhile.
Knowing as I passed along the way I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low:
Just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go...from that body to be free.
Remember you're not going...you're coming here to me.
I will always be with you!
There are no words that can really help you through this tragic time, but remember GOD will help you through it.

I just drove through your town last week returning to Georgia from North Carolina and passed a Patrol car which might have been Josh. My heart aches at the loss of so many officers to auto accidents. I lost two young officers during my tenure at Cherokee to accidents. The pain never goes away but The Lord Jesus Christ can bring comfort when no one else can. To all who loved and care for this young officer place your faith and dependence on God and you will get through this time. To all who "Serve and Protect" including my own son, I will always pray for you all.

Jesus is my front sight,

In peace, or in battle,
He guides my warrior stride.

Jesus is my front sight,
FOR HIM NO MAN I FEAR!

Jesus is my front sight,

To Josh's family, I pray the Lord will wrap his loving arms around you and carry you through the days ahead. The road you started travelling 2-1-07 is a difficult one. Know there are many out here praying for you and lots of people who care. Take time to mourn and then try to find peace and what your "new normal" is after that tragic day. May his little child know know that Josh was a hero just by willfully putting on the uniform everyday and gave up his life while helping another officer - be proud of your Daddy!
To his coworkers, never forget Josh and always let every member of his family know you still remember him and care about their well-being. After all the cards have stopped, the people quit coming by to pay respects and all the arrangements and paperwork is done, it gets lonely and you feel like everyone has gone on with life and forgotten that your life was ripped apart. Please don't let any member of his family feel like you have forgotten them. Lean on your co-workers to help you through the days ahead! God bless you & thanks for your service.
