Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Harold Michael Altman

Not a day goes by that you are not Remembered as My Brother. It's been fifteen years now, but it still stings like yesterday. My heart goes out to your family during these days, and I was proud to call you my partner. God Speed until we are reunited again.

Mike was a good old dude. I knew him before he became a police officer, back when him and my father in law and Samuel Jackson were playing music together in Freeport Fl. He was good guitar player and had a little studio that we'd go and record in. He started working at Seaside with me, we held a festival and I got him and Sam Jackson an all day gig playing for the crowd in the hot sun...lol Was a good memory of a great man and I am honored to have known him. My deepest condolences to his wife and family.

Mike was my friend, we played in a band, we called our selves Nothing Fancy, not realizing there was already a well known band already named that...lol anyways he loved music and was an accomplished guitar player, he always wanted to eventually record some records, he never got a chance to see them dreams through... He taught me how to play Simple Man..by Lynard Skynyrd... That was his favorite band.. Mike we love you man, I'm thankful for the time I got to spend with you.

Mike, yet another year passes without you here. This day twelve years ago you paid the ultimate price for serving our community. I have been wearing a Memorial Band over my Star all month in your honor. I know you are looking down on us from on high walking the streets paved with Gold. You will never be forgotten Brother in Green. God speed until we are reunited again. “All Give Some....Some Gave All”

Mike,

I'm here once again to show you that Heroes are NOT Forgotten. It now has been eleven years since your E.O.W. I continue to share your story with so many, and I have lost count how many have asked about my memorial band worn on my wrist everyday. I know you are looking down from above on all of us wearing the uniform. Rest easy Brother in Green, we have the watch down here. God speed Mike until we are reunited again.

On this date ten years ago you were taken from us Mike. There isn't a day that has passed since then where I don't think of your ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. You were a great friend, and are missed by so many people. I still wear your E.O.W. Memorial Band with pride every shift. I have lost count how many citizens have asked me about this band, and the times I have shared your story. You will NEVER be Forgotten! Rest easy Brother in Green, we have the watch down here.

Another year goes by Mike, but you will NEVER be forgotten buddy! I still get asked by citizens about the E.O.W. band that I wear for you. The band is a constant reminder of your ultimate sacrifice, and the dangers our brothers / sisters face everyday. God speed Mike, rest easy until we are reunited again. We have the watch down here.
