Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Detective Troy Lamont Chesley, Sr.

To whom it may concern, I will say a Special Prayer for this Young Man. My Step-son is one of you, And I Pray Daily for him too. I live in Sandston, Va. My Step Son is John Yeager, Baltimore City Norcotic Div. This young Man whom Passed so early in Life, Deserves a Place in Heaven, And I Pray for the Family and Friends and Brothers of this fine young Man. He will be Missed, But remember always he is with all of us now too. Daddy isn't always gone, He's in our Hearts. I know how hard it is to loose someone, and you wonder if you can go on. Yes you can, But it takes a while, Just invite God into your Hearts and Have him heal you. It took me forever when I lost my wife 2yrs ago. But I know she's Here with me. And you the Family and Brothers of the Dept. Will relize it too.May GOD Bless each and everyone who read this. My Heart goes out to you all. If you wish to contact me, I'm here [email protected]. Please allow my email, to be Printed. I wish to talk to whom ever wish to talk. Thank you.

Every day, or at least every few days, I bring a visit to this site, where all the fallen heroes are listed. I honour them as a collegue-policeman, and it brings me in mind how precious life is and the risks of being a police-officer.
Today by leaving this reflection, I would like to honour detective Lamont, and also the other fallen heroes of the past. May he watch over us, his brothers in blue, from heaven, and hopefully his children experience his force from above. I also lost my father at an early age (when I was 3) but I always felt his power, supporting me from above. I wish the same to the family of detective Lamont.
Greetings from Belgium

Troy,
Brother I will never forget the laughter, fun, and comraderie we shared in these terrible streets of Baltimore. Your courage and ability to do this job was like no other. You helped me through the tough times. You were always there for anyone that needed that helping hand or laughter to heal any wounds...I will truly miss you and pray you will be at peace. May God truly bless you--A REAL HERO

Troy,

Dear friend your time here was cut to short, we will miss that infectious smile of yours. Forever in our hearts will be the memories of the times that we have shared. Rest in peace. You will be missed.

"The Final Inspection"

The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"

The policeman squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges
can't always be a saint.

I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.

But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.

If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.

There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.

"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."

To the family, friends, and officers that knew Detective Chesley, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you face the trying times ahead of you. Please know your not alone.

Here I am, lost in the light of the moon that comes through my window
Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you and the roses

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow

Here I am, lost in the ashes of time, but who wants tomorrow?
In between the longing to hold you again
I'm caught in your shadow, I'm losing control
My mind drifts away, we only have today

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way
I will sacrifice 'til the blinding day when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow

When the veils are gone as I let you go, as I let you go

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way, I will sacrifice
Now I'm living in your afterglow

Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you who is closest
