Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Rahamy Mitchell

Faith is the realization of what is hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

You are missed daily. You are never far from my mind. You were such a good man, a great friend. It gives me comfort to know that even though I cannot see you, you are there. I have faith in that. You will never be forgotten my dear friend. I cannot wait until the day I see your face again.

Love you always

Stacey

Your heroism and service is honored today, the third anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

REMEMBRANCE
by Pat Ressler

We only meet but once a year
To pay tribute to loved ones we hold dear
To remember those who are gone
We honor them with liturgies, prayers and songs.
God in His wisdom and infinite grace
Has called them home to a final resting place
Where the gift of eternal peace and joy is a constant thing
That only this life's death can bring.
They gave their best when they answered the call
Their duties carried out for one and all
To keep the peace and set men free
From the adversities of life, whatever they may be.

We'll meet again on that heavenly shore
To walk and talk and smile once more
Perhaps reminisce of times gone past
And rejoice that we're together at last
We only meet but once a year
And focus on memories we hold dear.
From this earth they may be gone
But in our hearts they live on.
For those who remain to continue the task
Keep a strong and honest heart, that is all we ask.
A grateful salute to the men and women who wear “The Blue”
May God richly and deeply bless and protect you.

Forgive me for missing the anniversary of your E.O.W., but I felt as though I could not continue to read about so many tragedies. I now realize the visit each day to leave a word of encouragement and hope to the loved ones of others, helps me to remember that I am not alone with my pain and heartbreak. So may I say to your friends and loved ones that my thoughts and prayers are with them now and always. Continue to keep watch over them and those still out on patrol and may they know you will never be forgotten.

Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and search for righteousness
For they shall be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called sons of God.
Matthew 5:3-9

"I am the Officer"

I have been where you fear to be
I have seen what you fear to see
I have done what you fear to do
All these things I have done for you.

I am the person you lean upon
The one you cast your scorn upon
The one you bring your troubles to
All of these people I have been for you.

The one who you ask to stand apart
The one you feel should have no heart
The one you call the officer in blue
But I'm a person, just like you.

And through the years I've come to see
That I am not always what you ask of me
So take this badge, take this gun
Will you take it? .....Will anyone?

And when you watch a person die
And hear a battered baby cry
Then do you think that you can be
All these things you ask of me??

I know it sounds selfish but yesterday I refused to watch the news so I would not jump back to two years ago when I got the phone call early in the morning. But today when I woke up there you were on my t.v. looking at me. I knew they would have your photo on t.v. and that is why I did not want to watch the news. I LOVE YOU and you helped me so much you were like the big brother I never had. I miss you Rahamy. I will always love you.

To our fallen officers
You have done your duty
Kept all safe from harm’s way
Until that fateful day
When you were taken away
From your family,friends,fellow officers
And the communities,in which you
Swore “To Serve & Protect”
Your watch is now over
May you rest with your
Brother & Sister Officers
Whom have sworn the same before you
Time is now for us to take the watch
As you stand on The Almighty’s right side
May all of you watch & protect us from harm’s way
Rest in Peace my Fellow Officer
You will always be forever in our hearts

We miss you!!

It's hard to believe that one year has already passed. I miss working the street with you, amd miss having you to talk to even more. I know you are in a better place, but I am selfish and wish you were still here. Rest easy brother...you will never be forgotten.
