HAPPY JULY 4TH. I know the fireworks are going strong in Heaven.

July 5, 2007

I haven't spent a lot of time this year reading the memorials of the fallen officers, mainly because it saddens me that so many great men and women have fallen. It's a terrible thing that so many great lives were cut short. As a fallen officer survivour, my heart goes out to all those that knew and loved Trooper Jenks, especially to his wife. Know that you are not alone in this journey that you walk and that Calvin will not be forgotten here in Winnipeg.

Trooper Jenks, thank you for helping to make this world a safer place. If you run into my late fiance Dennis up there give him a hug for all of us down here. It's been just over four years and we still miss him terribly.

Wishing you brighter and better days,

Jocelyne

Calvin,

I just watched the videos again from your funeral. It seems like it was just yesterday we laid you to rest. I hope and pray you are at peace even though Sarah Beth is still having to deal with those idiots that took you from us. Please watch over her. She needs you now more than ever.

Calvin,
I was just thinking about your today, as every day, so I went by the cemetery.

You would be so proud in the way your family, as well as your entire county, is holding your name up high.

I just wanted to let Jenks' family know that they are still in my prayers. His room and mine in the academy were side by side. I can remember laying there late at night trying to get to sleep and hear Jenks through the heating duct in the ceiling. He would just be blabbing away to his roommates who were trying to get to sleep also. He was very excited about becoming a Tennesse State Trooper.

"We Remember the Officers"
We remember the officers who changed our lives,
The men and women who protect us day and night,
People who respect for their dedication to the cause,
For when faced with danger, they never even pause.

We remember the officers who always stood true,
Whatever the color of uniform, brown gray or blue,
With pride and integrity they say "To serve and protect"
For the giving of their life, we offer our respect.

We remember the officers who we never really knew
Persons strong enough to answer the challenge are few,
With heavy hearts we mourn the officers in eternal rest,
There's more to these people than the badge on their chest.

thank you Trooper Jenks. Rest easy brother.

There hasn't been a day I have not thought of you. There is still a void in Troop C and in me that I feel will never be filled. I miss you but know you are in a better place. Peace be with you brother.

My thoughts and prayers are with Trooper Jenks family and co-workers. I recently lost my husband. Know that time will heal the wound, but the scar will last forever so he is never forgotten.
