You might want to check the official records again. The memorial to Ranger Anglin in Fairview Cemetery, Midland, Texas lists the date of his death as July 1, 1879. That date would be about right considering they trailed the Comanches for 100 miles beginning June 29th. 30 Miles per day on horseback would be about normal.

Those Rangers were incredibly brave as the Comanches were the finest light cavalry the world had ever seen. Texas can never repay the debt we owe them. May Pvt. Anglin rest in peace in the Mansions of the Lord.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 133rd anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace

Jill,

I was reading you account of J. B. Anglin, Texas Ranger. I wanted to inform you the name of the ranch he was killed on was Mabee not Magee. Just thought you might want to correct that in your records
