My heart is already heavy even though it's still 5 days away. Sometimes I laugh and smile, like a couple weeks ago when those songs came on - I know you were there. And then other times I can't shake the sadness. I'm not ashamed to admit I still talk to you and ask for your advice. I miss you so very much.

Just got back from Alaska. Keeping to my promise, I brought Kyle and Katelynn along and basically did the same itinerary as our last trip back in 2006. I was able to share with them the places you have been and activities you have participated in. They had a great time. I know you were with us sharing in our moments. You are deeply missed and still think of you every day.

It has been seven years today and I still feel the same pain that I had fely the night we received the news. You showed me all of the possibilities that the world had to share with me. I have gone through these last years trying to live up to and be just like my idol. I just hope that I have lived up to your expectations and have made you proud of my choice. You made all the time we spent together the absolute greatest. I will never forget you.

The weather matches my mood today ----- cloudy and rainy!!!! It has been a crazy amount of rain we have all been getting, but thinking that is your spirit stating you will never go and how strong you are......having a mug of brewski for us and kiddos sang happy birthday to ya!! I visited the memorial in June while on vacation with the family. Sad there and cried like a dork in front of my sons. Hopefully someday they'll understand.

Well you've been on my mind a lot lately. I watched my son skiing last week and he looked just like you. Same style, same grace. Not many people on the mountain ski like you. But he does. Brought tears to my eyes. Nathan noticed the same thing a week later. Just needs to hold those poles behind his back as he cruises.

Your other nephew has grown into quite the young man. I'm so proud of him. Enlisted in the Navy yesterday and nailed his ASVAB. I'm excited for him and for the turn his life is about to take. But you already know. Thanks for the visit. It meant so much to him. And the timing was impeccable.

KT, well she hasn't changed a bit... Your dog. She's a PIA but we love her anyway. And we all miss you.

Really, six years ago?! Yikes, time really plays with your head. Seems like it was just yesterday we got the call in the middle of the night that no one EVER wants to get!! But, then again seems like it has been forever since you call us and tell us of what adventure you were off to. Got another one this year and I know everyone, he wishes he was on the trip with you!! However, there is a great pencil-framed drawing done of a scouting trip of the two of you and it is in our office. So, as I work, I get to see you on, "our horse!"

I hope you are playing like crazy, because I know you are working hard to keep everyone safe!! Miss you every day and know you are NOT nor will ever be forgotten!!!

Another year has passed. Has it really been six years? Time heals all but somehow it is still so raw. Tonight at the bridge was the warmest year we've had yet. You would hate the weather right now!

As you know, we are doing our best to keep up your travel habits. Ireland was amazing and the trip to Tahiti//Bora Bora is booked for next year. We are so excited to dive again. I still remember you being there for me during my first night dive in the Keys. You just made everything calm and I knew with you by my side I would be fine. The way you lived life inspires me all the time to do more and want more for myself and those that I love. You only live once!!!!

Thank you for watching over my officer. He misses you so much and it breaks my heart to see the emptiness your absence has left in his heart. Please continue to keep an eye on him. I'm sure you were so proud to see him chug that Guinness in Ireland. Obviously you would have done it faster but he's getting pretty good at it!

We love and miss you so much buddy. Till we meet again....

My ipod is on shuffle everyday at work, or otherwise I have the local radio station playing (Two for Tuesdays on 107.9 today)........over the last week I keep hearing songs that make me pause and think of you, and J-Rod. The Beatles "Let it Be" just came on again.....

Something tells me that you are both reaching out to help me remember that "LIFE IS GOOD...." Always when I least expect it, but also when I really need it!

So, thanks for "stopping by" to say Hi.... Even if I get a little sad at first, it always makes me SMILE!
