Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Deputy First Class William H. Beebe, Jr.

I will always remember Bill. He was the only one in my life that actually gave a damn about what happened to me. When our mom and dad kicked me out of the house, my brother was the only one who offered to help me... If it wasn't for Bill i would most likely not have a penny and be living on the streets. Bill was the type of guy that you instantly liked, an easy going guy who was so smart and so full of love that you couldn't NOT like him. So Bro this is my final thank you, you will forever live on in my heart and the hearts of everyone you touched.

I Love You Bill
You shall not be forgotten.

Bill,
We continue to miss you terribly and have been thinking about you more than ever recently. We are in the middle of moving and as we take our wedding picture down we reflect on the incredible person that you are. We also watched through our wedding video to see all the parts that included you. The star with your badge number hangs in Ashton's room and when it falls down he says "Bill star" and wants it placed back up. I tell him that "MR. Bill is watching over him and keeping him safe". We are having his mural repainted in his room and the angel which is now holding a bird will be holding a star or badge with your number on it. We miss you so very much and think about you, Tina, and Jesse daily.

--"If you find it in your heart to care for somebody else, you will have succeeded." -- Maya Angelou

Aloha Deputy First Class William H. Beebe,
I have come back again to leave a tribute on your memorial page after facing death on 12/25/2006. I walked away with a renewed purpose in my life and it is being reflected below. I pray in the year 2007, I can successfully complete a tribute for every Fallen Officer from as early as 1836 to the current 2007 by 11/26/2007 in honor of Steve Favela, his wife, Barbara, daughter, Kiana, his three sons, Keahi, Matthew, and Jacob, The Honolulu Motor Patrol Officers and The Honolulu Police Department, in which he left behind. I, on the otherhand, was given a second chance. I choose to be that, “Light” that continues forever to honor the Fallen Officers here on the ODMP.

This is what, “Kahu La`a Kea” means; “Keeper of the Sacred Light.” I have found a purpose and a calling deep within my heart and soul that will shine so brightly, for the flame is bright and the light burns strong enough to guide others to find their way to each and every officer’s memorial page in hope’s of a tribute in their honor and in their memory. May God continue to bless those men and women that serve and protect us; 24-7-365.

Deputy First Class William H. Beebe, I thank you again for your service and dedication to your community and your country. You and all officers that continue to lay your lives on the line and pay the ultimate sacrifice to keep our communities and country safe, will NEVER be forgotten.

I personally pledge, (after one of Hawaii's own, Honolulu Police Officer Steve Favela, lost his life in the line of duty protecting our Commander in Chief, President George W. Bush), to become a continuum; a keeper of the ODMP light. That light is in the form of an ODMP tribute. People from all walks of life, regardless of age, race, religion, profession, education, and geographical location can share here.

This "LIGHT" comes from within the heart and soul of every person who cares to share a word or two on behalf of each and every fallen officer. Every fallen officer is a hero. The ODMP; Officer Down Memorial Page gives us a place to come together and share our feelings as one family. May we find solace as we give solace to the families who have lost a loved one.

Deputy First Class William H. Beebe, God Bless you. You are a hero. As we say in Hawaii, “You are`Ohana.” “You are Family.” No one will ever be able to replace you for you were unique and very special. No one; not in this lifetime. May God allow you to rest in His Divine peace. I wish you, your loved ones, and your fellow officers, peace and love beyond all understanding. I honor you today. You have not been forgotten.

** May this Hawaiian prayer give all those who read it comfort. **

THE PEACE OF " I "
KA MALUHIA O KA "I"

Peace be with you, All My Peace,
O ka Maluhia no me oe, Ku'u Maluhia a pau loa,

The Peace that is " I ", the Peace that is "I am".
Ka Maluhia o ka "I", owau no ka Maluhia,

The Peace for always, now and forever and evermore.
Ka Maluhia no na wa a pau, no ke'ia wa a mau a mau loa aku.

My Peace " I " give to you, My Peace " I " leave with you,
Ha'awi aku wau I ku'u Maluhia ia oe, waiho aku wau I ku'u Maluhia me oe,

Not the world's Peace, but, only My Peace,
The Peace of " I ".

I come to the ODMP often to remember my late fiancé Dennis. Everytime I come here it breaks my heart to know that yet another officer has fallen and that yet another family has to live their lives without the man they loved. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Deputy Beebe, especially to his fiancee. Know that you are not alone in the "journey" that you walk. Should you ever need anything please don't hesitate to contact me. The Davis Co. Sheriff's Office in Iowa will always know how to reach me. You will be in my thoughts.

From reading the reflections left for William, he sounds like he was a great man with a beautiful spirit. Those of you who knew him in life were so blessed to have been able to share in it. I hope that you will all continue to find a way to celebrate and remember William's life and the MAN that he was. Remember that William's life was about so much more than the way he died. William will continue to live on as long as we continue to remember him.

Deputy Beebe, thank you for helping to make this world a little safer for us all. YOU will not be forgotten. Please continue to watch over all of us as only you can. If you happen to bump into my late fiancé Dennis up there give him a big hug for me and the kids. It's been four years but we still miss him terribly.

Wishing you brighter and better days,

Jocelyne :)

When ever someone asked me what I thought about Bill, I would say "He is a good kid." It was not until he died that I realized that he was not that much younger than me. I guess I always thought of him in that way because of his enthusiasm and good nature. At times that could be annoying, but in many ways I envied him for it. He was one of the most genuine and decent people I have ever known. He will be missed.

Bill....
I remember the first time I saw you talk about how much you loved your job. It was a game night and there was a fellow brother in blue talking with you. I was in awe. I thought to myself and later said it out loud, "I wish I could love my job like these two do." It was obvious that you were going to be a great officer. You did a favor for me that I will never forget. You were always available to help a friend. You were the one we would all go to, for answers to riddles and puzzles. You were so smart and always knew the right thing to say to people. I will always be sincerely thankful for the time I knew you, Beebe. Rachael, Leila and I will try our very best to help Tina and Jesse as much as we can. You will never be forgotten.

Rest in Peace Beebe!
Love,
Christy, Rachael and Leila

Beebe-
Just letting you know that I will always remember you. You are one of my best friends. I keep the ribbon Teresa made for us in my patrol car attached to my RADAR unit. With it there, I know that you're riding with me all the time when I'm working. I miss you terribly.

You would've loved the service. You would've been proud of EL 22. We all came back together and worked together just like in the academy. The rest of the class helped me to remember how tight we all are, and how we're more than just co-workers or friends, we're a family. I'm glad we all were able to have a great man like yourself as a family member (and as a self-appointed assistant class leader). The best part of the day (for me anyway) was when we were riding to the cemetary and the sun broke through the rain clouds. I knew you were looking at us then, and it made me cry. It still makes me cry.

Don't worry about Tina and Jesse, we'll all look after them both. I saw Tina the other night and she looked well. She told me that you would've been proud of Jesse because he was working the room at the reception, the way you taught him.

Thanks for teaching me about the G.A.M. theory. I don't think Woman appreciates it, but she smiles whenever I say it. I'll leave you with a couple of favorite D.I. quotes: "Why is it always you, Beebe?" and "Why am I always dressing you, Beebe?" From #731 to #732, I love you, buddy. You're my hero.

Deputy Beebe, may you rest in peace. Thank you for your brave service to this community, from these reflections I can tell you made a real difference in people's lives and served diligently and heroically..

Tina, I can only imagine the hurt and loss you and Jesse must feel. Please accept my humblest condolences and know I am praying for you both. I know he is watching over you as he is now with the angels in heaven. My heart goes out to you both.

Janessa said that she liked the way you scared her and she kept on saying Beebe come back to us. I'm not really sure how you scared her, but she did like seeing you in uniform.
Rodney remembers when Beebe wouldn't go on some of the roller coasters with us at Six Flags and how Jesse and he teased Beebe because of that.

You're so smart, (where does one pick up all that useless information?), kind, so loving with Tina & Jesse, and willing to help everyone. I know that you loved your job and you would have gone far with it. Thanks alot too for the wonderful words you had to say about me even though we didn't know each other very well. I always told Tina you should have been cloned, she had the best man out there!! Rest in peace!!!

Bill,
We realy did not know each other, but we crossed paths serving the same area of Harford County. I ride for Abingdon Fire Co. and we have crossed paths on different calls, and in passing. I am also a fellow brother in blue. I did not get to work with you Law Enforcement side, but I am sure it would have been a blast. My heart goes out to your family, and friends.

Bill,

Thank you for all of the fun times we shared as friends. You always made me smile and you treated me as if you had known me a lifetime.

I will miss your charm, your laughter, your smile and your wit. You were a great competitor on game nights. It was amazing how many obscure tidbits of information you knew or the way you analyzed a question in order to get the right answer.

You were truly one in a million. Thank you for all you did as a police officer and as a friend. Please watch over us and guide us. You will never be forgotten.

Bill,
From the first time I meet you, I knew that you were a funny, special and genuine person. The first time I came to your house you welcomed me with open arms and treated me as if you had known me for years. I believe your first comment to me was “hi, you look like Cameron Diaz”. You have a wonderful personality, and you are so fun to be around. It is so apparent that you loved what you did, and you loved Tina and Jesse with all of your heart. I am grateful to of had the privilege to get to know you and see what a wonderful person you are. To Tina, Jesse, and the Beebe family, you are in my thoughts and prayers every day. I know you have a long road ahead of you, but if there is anything I can do please do not hesitate to call.
