Reflections for Deputy First Class William H. Beebe, Jr.

God bless you and your family. Thank you for your

It's been over seven years and I finally come here. First and foremost, I'm sorry it took so long. There is a line in the movie Saving Private Ryan where Tom Hanks tells Matt Damon to "earn this." I hope I've done that since that night off Scottish Isle. Not a day goes by where somehow I think to myself that I hope I'm earning where I'm at and what I have. I'm sorry I couldn't have done more, but you would have been proud of how everyone pulled together that night, especially "5" because he was a rock star. I hope all is well and I hope that I'm making you proud. I made the trip to DC on the five year mark and it was very much a time of reflection and coming to terms. In some ways I think I'm still coming to terms.

My dearest Billy, yes, that is what I called you all your life. I miss hearing your voice. If I try real hard, sometimes I can still hear you calling me. You were just like my own son and I was only 17. I carted you around so much when you were little, because I loved you that much.

I know you are were angels tread. From the time you were a little kid you always had a heart of gold. You touched so many lives in your short life. I miss you. My heart hurts whenever I think of you. I look at your picture everyday because it sits on my dresser. What I wouldn't give for one last conversation with you. I love you.... Always.

Deepest Love,

Aunt Cindy

On this Anniversary of 9/11 - I remember and honor you Officer William H. Beebe.

Hello My Sweet Beebe, it's Reeeeeeene! as you would call me. You would have officially become my Son-in-law if you would have hung around until April 2007 when you, Tina and Jesse were to be married. The 4 years you were in our lives were so jam packed with Beebe-isms that will never ever be forgotton. I remember you always telling Jess "Stay in School and Stay Off Drugs" from the time he was 5 years old. You were amazing at Trivia games, always knowing the answers to questions that came from another dimension - well, guess who inherited that gift - your Son, Jess. It is uncanny what he remembers and honors about his Dad. He now officially has your name and wears it proudly on his Baseball uniform. Tina's Dad, Chuck and I were always so very thankful that you were Jess's Dad and the Love of Tina's Life. You were just what they needed in their lives at that time to show them the way with your undying love, attention, humor and direction. You have taught Jesse lessons that he remembers and lives to this day. You will be proud to know, Jesse has never lost the compassion for others that you taught him, he is now 13 yrs. old and starting High School and dating girls. Where did the time go? Your handsome picture in your uniform will always be proudly displayed in my home alongside Chuck's picture. Say hello to Chuck for me, I miss you both more than you will ever know. It gives me such pride to read all of the accolades you have received from those who knew you and those who didn't. I am honored to have known you and I thank you for being in our lives. Love and Hugs My Son, Your Other Mother-Rene

Well Beebs, yesterday marked 4 years since you've been gone... I can't believe it has been that long. Some days it feels like just yesterday that you were still here and other days it feels like an eternity since I last saw your face or heard your voice. I have thought about you for every single one of the 1,460 days since you left us. You were so much more than just my co-worker... you were someone I was proud to be able to call my friend. And that night, you were also my patient. Part of me wishes I had never gone on that ambulance call because it forever changed me... as an EMS provider, as a dispatcher, and as a person... but the bigger part of me is grateful to know that you weren't alone and that you were being cared for by someone who not only knew you, but loved you.

I have taken comfort in knowing that your final moments on earth were spent doing something that I believe you were BORN to do, and something that you enjoyed so much... if only we could all say that! I know how much you loved being a cop and you were truly one of the best. I miss you very much.

Please say hi to Brian Neville & Jake for me...

Hi Beebs,

Just wanted you to know that I was thinking about you today... I had a dream last night that something bad happened to a couple of our guys on a call. I know it was just a dream, but it scared me. Please keep watch over everyone and help keep them safe from harm!

Almost 4 years later and things still aren't the same down here without you... I miss you and I love you!

P.S. Say hi to Brian Neville and Jake for me... I miss them too! 10-4 10-76 :)

Its been almost 4 years now but I think of you from time to time. I never met DFC Beebe but he has been one of a few fallen HCSO. Your work was so important and Harford County is safer because of your service. Rest in heavenly peace.

Happy 32nd Birthday, Beebs! You're probably looking down on us with all this snow and laughing at us... is this a present you sent from Heaven? I have a funny feeling we'll end up with 32 inches of snow in honor of 732's 32nd birthday! =)

I miss you and I love you!

Your heroism and service is honored today, the third anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

I pray for the solace of all those who love and miss you. Both the pain and pride are forever.

Rest In Peace
