Reflections for Senior Trooper Robert A. Hill, Sr.

It saddens me to see another law enforcement officer has been added to this website. As a military Police Officer and a former Virginia State Police Trooper Trainee, there are no words that will explain the feelings for a tragic loss. To the family of Senior Trooper Hill may GOD give you the strength and comfort at this trying time. To the Troopers out on the highway, may GOD watch over you and bless you as you go 10-41 and continue to protect you until you are safely 10-42 for the day. Rest in peace Sr. Trooper Hill.

It was just last week when I saw you in Richmond for training, and when I heard the news yesterday, I could not believe it. May God be with your family now more then ever, and with those that you worked with. From all your fellow troops in 1st Division, Area 8, know sir that you will be missed, and never forgotten. We know that you will keep a watchful eye over us as we carry on with our jobs. Rest in peace Robert, we have the watch from here.

To the Hill family, may your heart find comfort in knowing that your husband, father, son, and brother found dedication in duty and service. As stated so many times over and over, it takes a special and great person to do what Senior Trooper Robert A. Hill, Sr. and others officers do to protect and service our communities and roadways. I have a daughter and a very special friend that are offices as well, who go out everyday to do what Trooper Hill did so bravely everyday, my heart is saddness by the lost of this fallen officer. May the Lord take each one of you and wrap you all in the palm of his hand and protect you daily. You have my heartfelt condolence.

Here we are again to leave our thoughts to the family, loved ones, friends and the brothers and sisters who wear the badge of law enforcement. I watch the TV programs about law enforcement and I can visualize what happened to this Trooper.
It is so scary knowing that he was doing his duty and was taken from all in a matter of seconds.
"A Letter From Heaven"
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say.
But first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from Heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; Here is just enternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I am with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through
God picked me up and hugged me and he said,'I welcome you.
It's good to have you back again, you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, They'll be here later on.
I need you here badly, you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night the days chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....In the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years.
Because you are only human they are bound to bring tears.
But do not be afraid to cry: it does relieve the pain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
If I were to tell you, you would not understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is over.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you, and many hills to climb;
But together we can do it by taking one step at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you to;
That as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain;
Then you can say to God at night...."My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented...that my life was worthwhile.
Knowing as I passed along the way I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low:
Just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go...from that body to be free.
Remember you're not going...you're coming here to me.
I will always be with you!
You are a HERO in so many ways and we will keep your family and all who knew you in our prayers
GOD BLESS YOU ALL

It is hard to believe that about this time 6 years ago, I was just graduating the academy and you were my F.T.O. I never realized how much influence you had over me until I trained my first recruit not long ago. I found myself saying the same things to him that you had taught me. I always enjoyed seeing you at physical survey or at the gang conference in Richmond. My life was, without a doubt, made better because you were in it. I will always miss you, but I will always carry your your instruction and knowledge with me. You helped make me the officer I am today........I pray for your family.

Until I see you again.....
