Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Senior Trooper Robert A. Hill, Sr.

Robert, I just can't believe you are gone. I remember so well the times we worked in Area 36 together. Your smile was infectious then and continued to be everytime I saw you. Each time, I left with a little more spring in my step as your enthusiasm energized me. I know you are well taken care of in Heaven and smiling down upon us. I thank you for your selfless devotion to your family, your commuity, and your co-workers. I will pray for your family as we all struggle to make sense of this tragedy.

Senior Trooper Hill,

Although I never had the chance to get to know you, I have heard many wonderful things about you. Your legacy will live on through every Trooper you trained, and other lives you touched. Your calling home was needed far much greater than here on earth. We will continue on in your memory and you will never ever be forgotten. I only wish I atleast had the opportunity to meet you. You are a true AMERICAN HERO.

Robert Hill.... I will always remember your smile and wonderful sense of humor. Bill and I shared so many good times with you and Melissa - times that we will treasure forever. You were a strong and positive presence in this community and gave of yourself in so many ways and to so many people. I am proud to have you as my friend and will miss you terribly.

Robert,
I still remember the early days in Sussex County. I was a deputy sheriff and you were a new trooper. We watched each others backs on calls. We shared many meals together. We visited each other while we each were out with our wives after the birth of our children. We shared many laughs together. I will miss your smile. Rest easy, my friend. I pray that God will provide peace and support to your wife and children. I will see you later.

Trooper Hill, there is no such thing as a routine traffic stop and no matter how many precautions one takes, you can never truly know what might happen. You still went out and did your job every day and for that, you are a hero. Your family and friends will never truly be without you, I believe this.

God Bless and may you Rest in Peace, Brother.
