MPO Whiston were in the academy at the same time. He was in Class 264, and I was in Class 265. I had the opportunity to speak to him a few times while attending inservice at the Bowling Green Police Department. He seemed like a real good guy. David, the officers here at the Glasgow P.D. will keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers. Carry on my brother in blue, for now you have a different beat to walk on the streets of gold. God Bless.

I did not know Officer Whitson on a personal basis, but spent time with him while working at Greenwood Mall. Officer Whitson used to work part time at Dillard's, working with their Loss Prevention Department, he also worked at the mall during the holidays. There were several instances that I had lunch with him in the food court, talking about the job, people and life in general. He was a kind hearted Officer, always had a smile and was always glad see us. He assisted Public Safety several times here at the mall. He was always professional, courtious and always appreciated what the Public Safety Officers did at the mall. I will miss him and I know that several of my Officers will miss him as well. My prayers are with his family and for the other Officers involved in this incident. We will not forget you Dave and may God cradle your spirit now and forever more.

To the Family,Friends and co-workers of MPO Whitson,we are so sorry for yours and our loss.We all hurt when we lose a brother or sister Officer just doing their job.If this person that he had the struggle with was in fact an illegal alien, then it saddens me even more. Our government has got to do something about the illegals we have here in our country.MPO Whitson is a true hero and he will never be forgotten. You will remain in our thoughts and prayers. You did your job and you did it well.

To the family, friends, and officers that knew MPO Whitson Mitchell, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you face the trying times ahead of you. Please know your not alone.

Here I am, lost in the light of the moon that comes through my window
Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you and the roses

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow

Here I am, lost in the ashes of time, but who wants tomorrow?
In between the longing to hold you again
I'm caught in your shadow, I'm losing control
My mind drifts away, we only have today

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way
I will sacrifice 'til the blinding day when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow

When the veils are gone as I let you go, as I let you go

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way, I will sacrifice
Now I'm living in your afterglow

Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you who is closest
