Reflections for Sheriff James Leroy Johnson

Rest in Peace...

Police Officer
Syracuse Police Dept,NY

October 28, 2006

Sheriff Johnson, since the person who killed you was mentally ill, I would guess he did not kill you out of maliciousness. It was a sad tragic event. My heart and my prayers go out to your family and the entire Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office as well as the Hoxie Police Department. You are a hero and they will miss you. But you will always be with them in their hearts and minds and in spirit.

My heart and prayers also go out to the Undersheriff who was forced to take out you killer. No cop goes to work with the hopes of killing someone. It’s a last resort that no cop wants to face, but face it he/she must and this Undersheriff did the right thing. I hope this stressful time passes without incident.

God Bless you Sheriff Johnson and may you Rest in Peace, Brother.

Harvard University Police Dept.
