Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Jeremy Victor Reynolds

I have known Jeremy since we were in High School. A mutual friend called me today with the sad message that Jeremy had passed while responding to a call. I know he's in heaven with all his fellow brothers of law enforcement. We'll see him again --- Just not so soon. **Thinking of you today & every day! Love, Robyn

I was Jeremy's FTO in his first law enforcement position and I can honestly say that I have never seen any trainee more thrilled just to "be there". He never complained when he had to re-write a report or when I told him that he had made a mistake. He would just keep smiling and say okay. He turned out to be a fine officer and a really nice guy who would do anything for you. When I organized a charity event for a chid from my church who had a brain tumor, Jeremy and his wife, Jackie, could be counted on to take care of anything I asked them to do. Law enforcement could use a lot more guys like Jeremy but they are a rare find. If heaven has a police department, I am sure that Jeremy is filling out the application right now.

Jeremy was a professional. His bright and friendly demeanor disguised an officer who could get down and dirty when it hit the fan. A high level of intelligence made Jeremy one of the most thorough investigators, and no incident was too small for Jeremy to put in his full effort. He was dependable and trustworthy, with a dedication to the job that went above and beyond. He will be sorely missed and the law enforcement community will suffer from his death.

Jeremy was by far one of those amazing people that you will only meet a handful of within your lifetime. He was the type of person that all should strive to be like. He truly touched the lives of every single person that he had contact with. I never once saw him when he didn't have a smile on his face or a kind word to say. I never once heard him utter the slightest of negative words. In only six months of working here at Fayette County he made an impact upon us that would not fade in one hundred years. It was an honor to have served with him as one of my brothers. Be with God brother, and watch over all of us as we continue your watch here on Earth. Know that as you patrol the Streets of Gold, we will always remember you as a friend, a brother, a neighbor, and a good man.

My deepest thoughts and prayers are with Deputy Reynolds' family, friends and co-workers. I was married to Alabama State Trooper Brian Nichols EOW 2/17/2002 and I am now married to Washington County Sheriff Deputy Aaron Carpenter.
