Robert Langley was an outstanding man. I met Officer Langley on the campus of the University of Mississippi. He was one of the kindest law enforcement officers I had ever met. I knew I was well protected as a student at the University with officers like Officer Langley watching over us. He was not only a law enforcement officer protecting the university and its students, but he was a friend to all of the students he came in contact with. He will not be soon forgotten, and his services will be cherished by many forever.

As I read the reflections of your life, Officer Langley, I am awed by the tremendous support and prayers from people that never knew you. As we live miles apart, I could possibly not have ever known about your heroism except that your brother talked with me in Tyler that solemn morning looking for directions. As I was told of this tragedy, my heart sank. I could see the heavy heart your brother was carrying.
We never met and probably never would have, but you were and are my brother. Your family is a part of my family. I wish to tell the family and especially your brother, good things can come from tragedy. I believe that it was by Divine appointment that your brother talked to me that morning. It has made an impact on my life and I will continue to pray for your family through their healing. I just wanted you to know that good has already begun to flow from what seemed as if nothing good could come.
May God comfort you within his Almighty arms. May all those that reflect on your sacrifice reflect on their own life as I have and realize that now is the time to have our priorities straight.
Thank You.
