Our thoughts and prayers are with Officer Briggs, his family, and the Manchester Police Dept. during this very difficult time. As citizens of Manchester we admire the courage and dedication of this city's Police Officers as displayed by Officer Briggs. As we pray for Michael, his family, and the MPD, we want them to know that we appreciate all the sacrifices they make so that my family can live in a safe city. Thank you and be careful.

Mike, you will never be forgotten and your family will be taken care of always. It is a great loss to our PD to have your tour of duty end. We will all now work harder to strive to be an Officer of your strength and dedication. God Bless you, your wife and your boys. You will always be with us.

Rest well Brother and may God welcome you with open arms.
As I sit here and look at your picture, it makes me sad and very angry at the same time that another Officer has lost his life and a Family is left to grieve and cry for their precious son, husband and Father.
The list on this website grows too long way too quick.
I pray that your family will know that we all hold them in our hearts and in our prayers.
Well done Marine-well done.

As a member of a New hampshire Police Det as well as the wife of a New Hampshire Police Officer I just wanted to say that this special man was credit to his proffession. He was there for all when ever they needed him. He was a friend to, co-worker for and pall bearor for Jeremy Charron, the last officer killed in the line of duty in this state.

He was also a terrific husband and father. As one of his sons said, if he had a second he would spend it with us.

To his wife and family, may God help you to get through the times ahead.

To our brothers in Blue at Manchester PD, My deepest condolances.

To any who read this, the Manchester PD has asked that a patch from each dept attending Michael's funeral bring a patch to give to his son. Please send a patch to the dept for this hero's sons.

I would just like to say that I am very upset over Office Briggs' death. My heart goes out completely to His family, and loved ones. I am angry toward the man that killed Him and if this State of NH does not follow through with the death penalty for killing Officer Briggs', I will be very disappointed in our State.

The Officers are doing their jobs and a wonderful job doing it. They have all kinds of conflict to deal with daily, not to mention the danger from people like the one that killed Officer Briggs. This State needs to stand up to these killers, and let them know that it is NOT okay to kill an Officer or anyone in the Legal System.

Again, I am so sad about Officer Briggs' death, He seemed to be a fine, upstanding man who really cared.

Sincerely,

Quila Burkett

My class at McDonough School has asked many questions about Officer Briggs and his family. Some of them remember him on his bike and others knew, or their family knew Michael Addison.
They wanted to have some time of silence and asked why we did
that and what it means to lower the flag. Curious little 10 and 11 year olds-but all know the seriousness of a police officers job.
We will remember him and all of the Manchester Police Force.

R.I.P Officer Briggs

I approach the vehicle, as bluelights bounce around me,
It's not a matter of like and hate, it's the violation I saw.
As I get closer, the danger I do not see,
I'm thinking of enforcing the law.

I hear the shot, and feel the pain,
As I drop to the ground
The car speeds off driven by a man who has to be insane,
As I finally into my radio, mumble,"Officer Down!"

As I lay there, I thought of my wife,
I see the dreams we had made.
I ask the Lord to please spare my life,
Then I felt myself begin to fade.

I stopped him only for speeding,
Then I heard a sweet voice on my ear.
"Come with me son, to Heaven I am leading.
No more will you have to shed a tear."

I opened my eyes to see my Savior,
He said, "Follow me, my son.
He will pay for his behavior,
For you have performed a job well done!"
