Bill was a childhood friend and classmate. I only saw Bill a couple of times a year, but when I did he always made me smile. We would always talk about our times growing up as kids and how our lives had changed with time. Bill was always trying to get me to come and purchase some fine jewerly at a bargin price. He was quite the talker and salesman. I will truly miss Bill and the few and far between talks we had together. My prayers and thoughts are with Bill's family. I know Bill and I will meet again and get to catch up on old times. Bill I love you and can't wait for that time.

Bill,
Thanks for being my friend, no matter how busy you were or where you were, you always had time to make sure my family and I were doing OK. We talked for 30-40 minutes on 9-30-06
and I wished we would have talked longer.
You made sure I got a "ROCKY EALES" Glock. If they make one in your memory I'll make sure I have one. THANKS BUDDY!!
for everything.

Bill, thank you for the wonderful 6 years we had together. You mentored me as a brother police officer and then as an uncle-in-law. I remember the first time we met and I was at static because of your demeanor as a State Trooper. I knew then I wanted to be just like you, wear the brown uniform and drive a black and white. As we went along in our professional friendship, I was blessed to met your niece Niki even thou you were hesitant about me dating her and then the big day came- the day I told you I asked your niece to marry me- boy do I remember the one-on-one conversation we had!!! We had some great memories like the time you ran me up and down the street and made me push the ground for the next academy- you made me so sick. Your exact words were “You think I’m hard on you now, just wait until the academy.” Thank you for being so supportive of the decisions I have made and we may be departed physically but you will always be with us in spirit and memory. God speed to you 663.

I just wanted to say how sorry I am to all of Bill's family and friends. I only got the privelage of meeting him once but I'll never forget seeing how much he loved Dakota. He was his hero and always will be. I wish I could have gotten to know him better. Who knows, one day we could be related. He was a great man and a truly loving father. I respect him for everything he's done. He truly is a hero in my eyes. Rest in peace Bill.
Later Dude!

To the Trooper McClendon family and the Okalhoma Highway Patrol, I am truly sorry for your loss. I recall seeing Bill when I was a police officer with the City of Sapulpa. It was watching troopers like him and the others that patrolled Creek County that ultimately inspired me to become a State Trooper. May God bless the McClendon family......rest in easy 663, we will take it from here.
