I've read reflections on this website for other officers who have passed in the line of duty before, and never thought I would be leaving a message here.... I remember the days I had class with Kevin at Arizona State University, and then returning back to visit Tempe and seeing him around Mill Avenue. My prayers are with Kevin's family, friends and co-workers.

Kevin,

I remember when I got that phone call from my wife. I could hear the tone in her voice that something was not right. She asked me if I had heard what happened to you. All I could do was deny that you had been taken from all of us. I rushed to my computer to check on the local new website. There my heart sank with overwhelming grief.

For those of you who don't know Sean and I. We were inseperable growing up. Then as we all grew up things were said, feelings were hurt and lines were drawn. During that time men turned to boys and things were left undone. On September 28th apart of me died with you. Even though we did not talk much I knew you cared about me as I cared for you. As you look down on us from heaven I know you can hear me and watch over me throughout my career.

As for the people's lives who you touched they are better people for knowing you. Listening to your laugh and your love for life.

May God hold your spirit close and keep you safe. Save room for all of your close buddies when we get there one day.

L.P.

It was 4:51, Thursday, September 28, 2006 that my pager went off to call DD. As I picked up my pager, I went into the garage and saw that your motor wasn't there and I knew that you were in trouble. I woke up Courtney, got into my truck and expeditiously got to Scottsdale Osborn. As Courtney and I walked in, Sgt. Kepler let me into a direction that I knew was not good. The news of your tragic and sudden death made me realize that life would never be the same but would go on. You were an amazing officer and you saved a countless number of lives. You were well respected and loved by Tempe, your family, and your friends.

As much as this hurts, I know that you are in a better place. I know you know this, but I will take care of Paula, your mom, and Alan, your dad. I will watch after your sister Caryn, and will definately keep in touch with Courtney. I am glad that we got to be best friends and we got the opportunity to live in the same house. I will definatley miss playing, and destroying you by 20+ points, you in NCAA Football and Madden. I will always remember you when I pour a beer from the kegorator and definately every time I do a shot of Jack. I can accept knowing that I will never have a friend like you again, but I know life will go on as you always wanted. Lastly, I know in March when I attempt to get on a motor, that it will be you who will truly give me my wings to ride and I will ride in your memory and your honor. I only hope that I can be 1/2 as good as you were. I will forever miss you and love you as a brother, best-friend, roommate, co-worker, and l.p. as you would say. God bless you T-508. Practice your game and save me a seat next to you because we have to finish our "tournament" when I get to heaven with you. Keep me safe as my guardian angel and I will always miss you.
