My deepest sympathies go out to the family, friends, associates, co-workers and many other loved ones who were a part of this dedicated professional's life. It truly saddens me when I hear of news like this. The Police Department is an extension of family and all Law-Enforcement Officers lost a brother on this tragic day. I truly hope that the savage(s) that is/are responsible for this horrific crime will be brought to justice. May his Soul Rest in Piece and may God Bless Him and His Family.

Tom, I was stunned to hear what happened to you. All I could think was that you were my friend, and even though we hadn't seen each other in a few years, I would miss you. I have so many good memories of us growing up in Riverdale and going to school together and now they are even more precious. Rest in peace, my friend.

Officer Cook, your murder(s) will find justice at some point, either in this life or the next. I do not doubt that your brothers and sisters at the Metra Police Dept. or any surrounding agency will truly rest until he/she/they are caught and dealt with by the criminal justice system.
